Is that all you got? Wow, takes a real man to tell someone on the internet to STFU and sure proves your point doesn't it? TKO 6 is that the rest of what you got? The thread is if Vitali's chin is over rated. You picked one of the fights that best shows how strong Vitali's chin is :good

You didn't exactly get me to STFU did you?

hang on, he quit against byrd. hardly a sign of being a tough bean, that's more to do with wimping out against an opponent you vastly naturally outweigh.

its like a man with a machine gun giving up against a mammy with a potato gun.

and he lost to Lewis because his defence was porous, not because he was magically winning the fight - he sacrificed his face to get close to Lennox, and was found wanting..

ESB - where comebacks consist of failed circular reasoning AGAIN and AGAIN.. and AGAIN.....after the flaw has been pointed out to them on numerous occasions.....

Corrie didn't win a world title in his prime.... but when shot2**** he won the title not through his ability on world level BECAUSE of the paucity of Wlads ability.

Sanders was never a title holder outside the K bros era.
Note the definite - NEVER, not shouldda coulda woulda.

Yet, he's achieved far more than you ever will. Pretty sad.

How many of Corrie's fights have you actually watched? Or are we going by boxrec here?

Going by what I remember of watching his career (I've mentioned before that my ex's father was a proud south african that had most of Corrie's fights on tape and we watched a lot of them together), Sanders was not exactly what you would call a well conditioned athlete. He was, of course, leaps and bounds better than any of us, but on a top level his stamina was rather poor. That attributed to his slow style of fighting and gave him his "Sniper" nickname - if he could get you out with one or two well placed shots, he would, but he didn't bother chasing guys that were good on their feet. He also often didn't bother (or couldn't due to stamina issues) finishing guys that recovered after his initial onslaught and then got on the backfoot - all those factors brought down his KO ratio significantly.

Denying that he was a heavy hitter would be following a strict Klitschko-hating agenda, one I do not much care for. Its not because I am overly sensitive about Kbros, I am pretty indifferent towards them now. Its mainly because I have an enormous amount of respect for Corrie, he was a man that fought like a braveheart and died like one. I am tried of mindless keyboard warriors smearing his name to pursue their petty goals on a virtual forum, and I see to it that he is being fairly represented.

As far as resumes go by the way, Sanders is a head above both Wilder and Fields, the supposed monster punchers, when it comes to opposition faced. At least most of his opponents were in shape and weren't brought out on a 6 day notice.

Nice post. Refreshing to see Sanders getting some respect. I'm from SA and know more about Sanders than most, having watched him back when he was still an amateur.
He had his failings as a fighter, but he could punch. Only a fool would say otherwise.

    oh, I see.
Fresh from your failure in comparing Corrie to champions and contenders of the past, you've plumped for comparing him to a non-athlete who doesn't box - eg. "Corries a better boxer than Liberace will ever be!"

Well theres an argument you can win.

Keep at it, its too funny. BUt just to clarify - we are focusing on the failure of YOUR argument, not trying to put Benny Hill in the ring with Sanders.

Apart from Holyfield, and Rahman.. and Mercer... and Johnny Nelson...:rofl:patsch

    You don't lose via injury.

We all now why. A retired guy more interested in getting his PGA tour card knocked out a guy with a shaky Chin and suddenly he's one of the hardest hitters of all time. The fact is Corrie Sanders was a decent hitter. He spent 90%+ of his career fighting low level guys and STILL had a relatively low KO% for such a "monster":rofl:patsch

its a true thing, the guy could hit hard but .....the man WAS a heavyweight, you'd expect him to be able to throw a punch hard to win the South African title. If he couldn't sock it then he'd be selling ice cream cones somewhere.

Hes just not on the level of title bighitters eve when prime.

Furthermroe, this was the worst version of Corrie ever - he had sunk well below his domestic title level at age 37/38.

No one denies he could punch. But there is a vast exaggeration of his punching powers by Klit fans for two reasons:

Firstly they use it excuse Wlad for getting brutally KOd in embarrassing fashion in his prime by a guy who was pushing 40.

Secondly it helps then enforce the nonsense notion of Vitali having an ATG Mandible. Now I'm not saying he doesn't have a decent beard. But have we really seen it tested that much?
