    Well, here is what Peter's recent fight history will read like, come Feb 3rd;

    Wladimir Klitschko...........loss.......

    James Toney .......win.........gift decision.......everyone agrees

    James Toney........win....clear win..........

Jameel McCline......win.....barely escaped being KOed and embarrassed. Big Time laid some serious leather on Peter's solid iron chin

    Oleg Maskaev..........loss.........TKO (brutal beating suffered)

    :good :good :good

And having loss to Oleg, Peter will never get that close to being a titleholder, again. And once the titles are now starting to be unified, Peter's chances of holding a part of these unified titles are now more slim than ever.

I agree Heavyrighthand it will be a brutal knockout, but Peter is going to be the one doing it. Peter is one of the most devastating punchers in the divsion and he is going to prove that come Feb 2, the overhand right is going to put Maskaev to into a permanent sleep.

WAIT..Vitali was hurt and instead of making the division wait he stepped aside to heal. He was CHAMP at the time and the WBC made that deal. :deal Vitali has the right to comeback and take that deal from the WBC. Blame them not Vitali

You gotta give him credit for stepping aside in the first place

He does have devastating power, but having great power and being able to put punches together is two completely different things :bbb
Peter can club, if Maskaev is really that shot, he'll walk into Peters wide-ass punches and get KO'ed.. if he's on his toes, Peter gets outboxed and exposed.

Vitali held the WBC belt captive for a full year before announcing his retirement in Dec of 05, he also backed out of fights with Rahman, Mccline, and Maskaev causing Sam Peter to wait even longer before getting his chance to fight Maskaev, who backed out which forced Peter to fight Mccline.

Your right, but Peter has really improved his punching skills. He goes to the body well, and has developed a pretty good jab. I would like to see him shorten up his hook, if he did that he would be one hell of a force to fight.:good

I love Peter's personality, he's a great guy and all, but I guess everybody know he's not what he was made out to be.
I still have hope in him, I think if he got the right trainer, and cut weight, he'll be able to work on his technique a bit and improve... Peter does have power in the category of Tyson, Foreman and the boys.. but these guys could actually put punches together and find that chin, that's the big difference.
Peter needs someone like Eddie Mustafa Muhammad or Freddy Roach to train him, I've been saying this all along, but hey.. my view on it:D

Yeah your right, Roach is good with power punchers like Peter. I think Peters head got too big after the Williams fight, people were all around him telling him how powerful and unbeatable he is. I think the Mccline match woke him up a bit, and now I think he's ready to go back to dominating again, Maskaev will lose come Feb 2.:bbb

Almost all of Peter's shots take the sceneic route. He don't throw a short, crisp, anything.

Thats why I said he needs to work on his hook, but his jab and body punching has improved greatly over the last couple years. Rome wasnt built in a day, Peter is 1 of the best in the divsion and will prove how powerful he is when he knocks Maskaev out of the ring with a huge overhand right.:bbb
