OK, tell us in which fights he was hurt and almost down? And don't mention the Sanders fight, because it is damn' obvious that Vitali wasn't hurt at all.

Sanders caught his attention, but he has very heavy hands that WILL put down most fighters with a flush shot. VK had his bell rung for a couple of seconds and then he was fine. Not many fighters could have been clear eyed so quickly after a Sanders bomb.

imo when vitali went down in the sanders fight it was a legit kd. he was wobbled but so what sanders is a good puncher. vitalis chin is the ****.

 

Seriously, in the late 90's Maskeav was a ****ing beast, he is a big puncher, and let me also point this out to you, in the amateurs they stop fights much quicker than they do in the pros so that stoppage might not be a murderous one at that, it might have been your typical Amateur stoppage they are saftey first in the Amateurs.
But regardless of that, Oleg was a solid fighter back in the late 90's he had all the potential there was out there he just never really got a break through shot at a title when he was still in his peak.

Vitaly was also flattened by Pele Reid, but it was not a punch. Vitaly has a very solid chin.

 

When Vitali was a kid, his Dad who is only 5'8" would spank him. No chin I tell you.

 

I heard that Vitali knocked himself out by accidentally tapping his razor on his chin when he was shaving. True story.

 

I heard Vitalis chin is so bad he was once knocked out by a punch that didnt even touch him, he saw it coming and the mere anticipation of it landing was enough to knock him unconcious for 2 hours.
