Vitali Klitschko's Last Fight in September

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BumOfTheMonth, Aug 9, 2011.

  1. 40 year old Vitali Klitschko picked Tomasz Adamek, The Nr.3 HW in the world according to the RING Magazine, No mandatory, Yes Vitali picked him. Adameks record speaks for itself, with only one decision loss to Chad Dawson in 2007 he has since a 13 fight win streak and a quite impressive resume at Heavyweight with wins over Chris Arreola, Michael Grant and a rather old Andre Golota, but blowing him away in 5 rounds.

Vitali travels into the Poles backyard in front of 40.000 fans. Probably 80% will be on Adameks side and there is a good chance of Adamek getting away with a points win in Poland. This is a great last career move by Vitali and a perfect time to retire after defeating Adamek in his hometurf.

Kind of same like Bernard did with Pascal in Canada, but I understand that Vitali is the favourite to win afterall.

Vitali knows that there is nothing else to prove for him other than letting his brother unify all 4 belts and be the first one to do so. Marking another historic achievement after Both Klitschko brothers unified all 4 major belts together in one family.

I wish this is Vitali's last fight ending by a Knockout. Ending his career with the 40th Knockout on his record. Thank you for a great career Vitali, Your father can be so damn proud of you. We will miss you Champ.

This is why Klitschko deserve so much respect. With exception of Running-Man Povetkin, they fought everyone in top 10. Wlad is coming off a win against a former #3 in the division too, which means that anyone who's anyone in HW either already faced Klitschkos or is in the process of facing them.

    K - O BROS. Ducking NO ONE.

Adamek may be #3 but he's not a very good heavyweight.

Vitali is also a proven quitter and steroid cheat, but we will leave that for another time.

Honestly, I have to agree although you're a troll. Adamek looked very vulnerable against fat Arreola and legendary glass chin Grant and couldn't even stop McBride.

I don't want to discredit him at all, the Arreola win was fine and all things considered this is a legit fight but at HW I regard Haye or Povetkin as the far better fighters.

Who said this is Vitaly's last? I heard him say recently twice that he is not ready to talk about retirement, and he has openly lobbied for fights with Haye and Valuev in recent months.

Its going to be Adamek, Haye, the Stiverne as a mandatory, the Valuev, and on and on.

And even if he is 46 years old, you know Vitaly is still hoping to get Lewis back in the ring. A month ago I would have said that there was no possibility, but a lot of people ahve lost a lot of money in the last couple of weeks.

I agree, Vitali does not seem to be ready to retire just yet. And why not fight on, when he is so effective and dominant, and making big money?

By the end of the year, I think we'll see Haye become itchy to get back in the ring and make another big payday and get back in the spotlight, so I think we'll see Vitali vs Haye next.......

  9. I highly doubt that Vitali will fight on after Adamek.

This just seems to be the perfect time to hang em up for Vitali Klitschko.
Let little brother reign for a little longer and capture the WBC crown.

Boxing fans will miss Vitali - Haters will point out that he ducked Bermane "B.WARE" Stiverne

I'd like to see him rematch Solis. I believe Solis when he says he was injured (certainly looked it) and he was giving Vitali some real good work up until the injury.

Vitali retires on top, he wont lose anymore, probably. I hope after adamek he adds 1/2 more fights and retires late 2012 early 2013.
