Vitali Klitschko's Last Fight in September

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BumOfTheMonth, Aug 9, 2011.

  1. Ending his career by beating Bermane Stiverne :verysad
or beating RING HW Nr.3 and former LHW&CW Champion Tomasz Adamek in front of 40.000 fans in Poland?

My guess is Vitali wants to retire on top and Adamek is the best opportunity he will get in a long time. I also see his political career becoming more important in the next year, looking at the problems in Ukraine atm.

I hope, he delivers a War with Adamek and calls it quits.

He had a fantastic career which I followed from his 3rd Pro fight on. One of the best Heavies to lace em up with a great personality. The most respectful Champion outside the ring but also the most relentless inside the ring.

After Adamek, I believe we will see Vitali fight 1-3 more fights, depending on the names available.

Haye, Valuev, Fury, Dimitrenko in Kiev may keep Vitali going, but if he is forced to fight the likes of Stiverne he will walk away, it is a waste of a training camp at this point of his career.

    Definitely.

His style is based on power and skill, not raw speed, so he could easily keep fighting & winning until his mid-40's. (If he wants to)

If he could manage to stick around a few more years, and beat the best of the younger fighters (Boytsov, Dinu, etc) as they hit their primes, then he would have a legacy to REALLY be proud of. Definitely then an ATG. I'm sure this is what Vitali wants.

Thanks for mentioning 2 of the biggest cowards in the HW division.

Haye's career is and always will be ****.Adamek could lose by KO 1 and still outshines the running man and the cowardly lion.

Vitali said numerous times that he will fight on and that he still loves the sport of boxing. Expect 2-3 more fights from Vitali

Knowing when to get out of the game is critical and Vitaly retireing after an impressive stoppage over Adamek would be a great time. However he has been saying "a couple" more fights for the past year and I also feel that he will be fighting once more in Germany or possibly Ukraine. Stepping aside would also allow Wlad to really put his brand on the division as well.

    Green?

Is he not a gold medalist and has worked himself into title contention several times?

He should stick around. I'd happily pay to watch him beat up all the fat *******s in the division and make them cry. Leave the real contenders to Wlad.

He could probably retire for a couple of years, go into politics and come back and still beat everyone of the HWs out there. Also him retiring will allow Wlad to become undisputed champion, which would make things nice and clear...

No idea why people keep repeating this. This is a fight between two good fighters with Vitaly being the favourite (much bigger, stronger, natural heavy). People keep saying Vitaly had great career, but so did Adamek. True boxing fan would rather appreciate Adamek's efforts in pursuing hevyweight title. Is there anything wrong with Adamek fighting Klitschko?
Sure, it looks like Adamek's chance to win is small, but stranger things happen in boxing.

Look at Ortiz vs Mayweather. Ortiz stands no chance at all. There are talks about possible Khan - Mayweather fight. Absolutely no way Khan can beat Mayweather. Why don't people say 'Ortiz gonna get torn apart to a pizza face'. In my opinion it's way more likely Adamek beats Vitaly, than Oriz or Khan beat Mayweather.
