Every time a fighter under performs there has to be an excuse. I am a Vitali fan but I didn't see much to to suggest his left shoulder was injured. Vitali had trouble landing the jab throughout the whole fight due to Chisora's head movement. Vitali threw more jabs in the last 6 rounds than the first six rounds and threw more jabs in the last 2 rounds than any other round, yet we are expected to believe he injured his shoulder early on in the fight?

Fact is a past prime Vitali easily beat his toughest opponent in years, it was an impressive performance where he lost 3 rounds at the most. We are so used to him not losing a round that an opponent who was able to not be totally dominated suddenly means he had an off night or must have had an injury.

It's very disrespectful against an opponent who clearly came in the best form of his life and gave it his all to suggest he only had what little success he did have due to Vitali having an injury. Chisora performed admirably, he showed up in good shape unlike some of Vitali's opponents and risked it all in trying to turn the fight his way. Both men fought a good fight, giving us one of the more entertaining heavyweight title fight in years. Yet all we focus upon are the negatives.
