Who did Solis beat? Which year ,which month was he ranked?
Is it possible his wins over Barrett and Austin got him a ranking?

It was after the annual rankings and leading up to the Vitali fight.

He beat Austin in December which might have been after the annual rankings were submitted.

You said “ Ring Ratings”. Not end of year. And just because those contenders who Vitali faced weren’t ranked in the Ring’s annual ratings doesn’t mean they weren’t ranked. He was holding the WBC title and while I don’t agree always with alphabet ratings a champion had an obligation to face with THEY have ranked and NOT Ring. Incidentally the “ year end ratings “ don’t necessarily reflect what those guys were ranked on the exact date of the fight.

So....what is "wasted" Talent VK best win.....who can answer that?

And no, TKO6 was not a win.

So what is VK's signature win, this will be fun.

His best wins are Sanders and Peter.

He clearly had the potential to beat somebody like Chris Byrd, or Alexander Povetkin, so perhaps you support the case that he was a waste of talent!

So a unskilled Caveman and a Golfer are his best wins ? LOL

He never beat Byrd, he quit.....and never ever went for a rematch......and never fought the other Russian hype job.

Again, VK was able to arm punch some old never good scrap metal but the ONLY time he stepped up he lost...twice. Case closed.

One more time , insert prime Foreman/Holmes/Tyson/Bowe etc instead of VK against old Lemmie and they would have done a nasty number on him, there is no way he would have won against ANY of the above at that stage of his career.......but PRIME VK could not do it , got stopped with his face ripped off.

Solis entered The Ring rankings, about a week and a half before his bout with Vitali; quite literally by chance. A spot for Solis opened up (at number 10) because Valuev had been removed from the rankings, due to his extended inactivity.

The bout, unsurprisingly, had been arranged a couple of months earlier, in January of the same year.

He was a very good fighter with an iron chin, but his resume is underwhelming imo. There were a lot of guys ranked when he was and he somehow missed them.

#1 and #2 ranked Ring Magazine contenders respectively.
You do understand that Vitally and his brother are not Russians?
If you doubt his credentials, when matching him against ATGs, then you have my backing.

If you doubt his credentials, when matching him against people who were not ATGs, then you decidedly do not!

Looking back over this thread you are right I thought I had stipulated I was using the End Of Year ratings but my earlier posts did not make that clear. They are the only ones I have access to.

NB. I detect a certain amount of animosity in your replies to me,I must say I find this disappointing because when you were previously here,I dont recall any major disagreements between us,and I always respected your views, those I agreed with and those I did not. However it's entirely your prerogative to choose whom you like ,and whom you dislike .Either way ATB, and its good to see you back adding your views to this motley crew.

Im sorry friend I didn’t mean to sound that way. I guess coincidentally we’ve been on the opposite end of some debates. I’ll watch my tone

There's certainly no need for you to watch anything. You don't have to agree with me.Most don't!
I am glad though, that there is no personal bias on your part, and there most definitely isn't any on mine!

You’re a good guy McVey. And I agree with you on some of the nuances of modern heavies vs the old. I guess I’ve just tried to develop a bit more appreciation for Rocky
