Good post. They both have comparable resumes. In fairness, Vitali’s is slightly better, but it’s interesting that Wilder gets so much hate for his resume while Vitali is near-unanimously praised as an ATG.

Audley Harrison as a best win tells you everything really.
Vitali's resume is not loads better but other than not fighting his brother generally fought who was there. As for Wilder there were plenty of others to fight but chose not to. In a theoretical H2H would have to favour Vitali who clearly had the tools and durability to get the job done.

Wilder still has a huge question mark over him due to lack of context against the other top guys although dangerous I think he loses to the more skilled out of the top 5. remembering that in his trilogy only in the 2nd fight was Fury in decent shape and focused.

The fact is Lennox Lewis beat Vitali - Klitchko was coming apart after the third round. Vitali was losing and if they hadn't stopped the fight he would have been KO'd or a career ending injury. And Lewis did not retire because of Vitali. He retired for the same reason Vitali retired. He was done boxing. When will this stupid Vitali won crap end?

Wilder floored Fury twice and successfully defended his WBC Heavyweight Title against him in their first meeting.

Lennox Lewis. Evander Holyfield. Jack Johnson. Hasim Rahman. Michael Dokes. Chris Byrd. Tommy Burns ... They all successfully defended their heavyweight titles with draws. None of them floored their challenger twice, however, like Wilder did.

They didn't get dominated the other ten rounds like Wilder did either.

That's a fallacy fencik. It's irrelevant who was winning if one of them get's stopped.
Using your logic Wilder lost all of his fights because he was losing before he knocked them out....
That sounds stupid and asinine doesn't it?
That's what happens when you use faulty logic...

Neither did Wilder. Fury outlanded Wilder by 13 TOTAL punches over 12 rounds. 13 punches over 12 rounds. And Wilder scored two knockdowns.

Any other champ gets outlanded by basically one jab a round, and scores two knockdowns over his challenger, it's an clear successful defense.

But Fury is bigger than life. Any round he didn't get dropped in, fans gave it to him. Pretty comical. They did that in all their fights. If Fury didn't go down in that round, he must've won it.

Regardless, it was a successful title defense. Wilder made two more successful defenses after that.

It counts as a successful defense just like it does for anyone else.
