Vitali by very vicious knockout. This would be a complete mismatch, Toney would have zero chance.

Toney would have much better chance than Arreola. Arreola is pure hype. He may be exciting, but he is not ready to fight on that level. James Toney is a proven fighter. If he can get himself into serious shape, he´s not easy to beat. Vitaly would have much more problems to defeat him, than he has with Arreola.

I think a KO of Toney would finally happen, not that it matters much at this point.

vitali can smash toney much easier than he did of sam peter.
    even prime toney at HW.

I wouldn't want to see Vitali fight Toney. Waste of time.

He should try to go after Arreola and then maybe after the winner of Solis - Johnson after the winner had another tune-up.

I would actually care for this one. I would like to see how Vitali's robotic style matches with Toney's defensive moves and small size (5"10 vs. 6"8, wow...). It's really a shame that this didn't happen in 2004, but then again, Toney is only 3 years older than Vitali...

I really don't want to see this fight. Five years ago if not more then hell yeah, bring it on. But Toney is WAY past it and Klitschko is no spring chicken either. I'm a massive Toney fan but he literally has NOTHING left. I hope Toney retires.

    I agree with Ilesey.
I pray this doesn't ever take place. Toney isn't all there as it is.

Actually, the winner Solis - Johnson could fight Toney or Maskaev. Then Vitali could fight the resulting winner.

Excellent idea, such a scenario would make a lot of sense to me as it would produce a credible challenger for once...

Vitali by murder. Oney doesn´t go down easy and Vitali has a murderous punch. Toney might get seriously injured in this match...

I'd like to see this fight too.

Toney is way out of contention though and would need either a hugely improved performance against someone or, much more likely, try to keep flapping his gums in hopes he insults Vitali into gifting him an undeserved shot.

I agree with most all above that Toney is way past it. That said, if he could get in real shape once again, I wouldn't put it past him to make a good fight of it.

Common opponent : Sam Peter. Look what happened.

It doesn't always work this way in boxing, I know, but I feel in this case Peter is a pretty good indicator about what would happen in a Vitali - Toney match. Peter was able to land well on Toney, Vitali is more accurate, powerful and much, much harder to hit in return. Toney is probably brain damaged already, this wouldn'tbe good. I don't need to see another ex - fighter less articulate than Geroge Bush.
