Vitali seems to be the white equivalent of Larry Holmes ( no race bait intended). He has a rock solid chin, a murderous right hand and an undomptable will to win. Holmes of course was a little more pure technically, based his whole game on his jab and had better all around skills, whereas Vitali likes to pull back akwardly and keep his adversairies on the outside waiting to drop his right hand bombs.
you're REALLY contradicting yourself here. Technically, I couldn't imagine two fighters more different than Vitali and Holmes. I couldn't think of a HW more awkward than Vitali, while Holmes is pretty much the complete textbook fighter.
Didn't I see Vitali stumble a little from a Peter jab at the end of maybe round 6/7 yesterday? Or did I just make that up?
Of course. But sometimes Holmes too could fight awkwardly pulling back while relying on his right hand, just like Vitali does ( remember the marvis frazier fight ?). My point is they have more similitudes than differences.
Holmes was way more fluid and graceful; Klitschko is robotic but capable...... Holmes' jab was the BEST ever at heavyweight, while Klitschko's is very long and heavy..... As a talented athlete, Larry Holmes is better, but Klitschko is very good at what he does.... MR.BILL
Holmes made 20 defences of the title. How many defences has Klitschko made of any version of the title?
I understand what you're trying to say with the post but I disagree. There couldnt be 2 more technically different fighters. Holmes was a textbook technical fighter with a GREAT jab. Vitali while good and skilled isnt as fluid, has a different type of jab and a different type of defense. Different styles completely in my opinion.
Larry HOLMES was great..... AND! Holmes too, had a GREAT chin... Getting parked by a prime Mike Tyson in 1988 is NOTHING to be ashamed of........ Christ, the last hook shot to Holmes' jaw was wicked.....
Wlad and Vitali can and would hold there own against ANY former heavyweight champion from 1887 to the present......... IN A TIME MACHINE!
