Good point, Uppercut....... Peter was so slow and right in front of Klit all fight long.... How the hell could you miss him? I wish Showtime had a "Punch Stat" computer system like HBO..... Klit's accuracy had to be insane.... Cheers.. MR.BILL
The main advantage Holmes has is his longetivity and health. At least 30 fighters since 1950 would have cleared through the resume and defenses Holmes did. And he managed to avoid true threats and earned rematches.
Bullcrapola...... Larry Holmes fought damn good competition..... Dudes like "Norton, Shavers, Weaver, Spinks, Berbick, Snipes, Cooney, Cobb, Witherspoon, Bonecrusher Smith, David Bey & Carl Williams" were all pretty decent and talented guys who had a damn good clue how to fight / box....... Later on, Holmes would fight "Tyson, Mercer, Holy, McCall & Butterbean." C'mon... Larry Holmes was GREAT!
I think Klitscko would dominate any of Holmes opponents...the better ones Shavers and Cooney as well as Norton all in quick fashion....Vitali vs Holmes would be competttive but Vitalis jab, hook jab and Right hand would be troublesome for Holmes and it may be enough...Larry had the movement and speed edge...I still think the Klitschko's would be too much for Holmes
his resume is light yrs better than Klitchco's, so is Tyson's, Hell Ruiz and Byrd have better resumes, seriously enough is enough.
agreed, ali is made for both of them, especially a pre- sanders wlad, although i think the best fighter out there is a combo of wlad, vitali, golota, and sanders hand speed!!!!!!!
James Toney "How the hell can you win a fight when you lookin' like a god damn monster, lookin' like Larry Holmes, ugly as hell n ****"
VK isn't even close to Holmes. Holmes had much better foot movement, much more fluid. He has a better jab, just as good a right hand. His chin was as good and Holmes was more durable as far as not being injury prone. I would say Holmes had better stamina to since it was more proven. Klit is prone to cuts as well. Larry Holmes is one of the 5 greatest heavyweight ever.
