Oh I get it, we're assuming the cut never happened. Okay in that case can we also assume Lennox took the fight more seriously? and earlier so that it was in his prime? As long as we're throwing hypotheticals out there that benefit Vitali, let's throw some in that benefit Lewis. So yeah Lewis still wins.

No. The cut continues, it's just the doctor doesn't stop it.

So the Doctor doesn't stop it on that cut in that round? I say he'd stop it in the next anyway. If not Vitali looses an eye. Not to mention due to the cut Vitali was getting tagged hard, he may not go down cause the guys got an iron chin, but he gets TKO'd still in my opinion.

Lewis was on his way out in that fight. Anyone who thinks otherwise is simply a biggot with an agenda.

IMO if not for the injury Vitali would have beaten him down in the later rounds. But on paper it's a loss.

Whats funny is how the deniers say Vitalis face falling off was "bad luck", like his skin and bone structure was just having an off night

Nearly past it, overweight Lewis just him so hard and often (unlike others before or since) that his face got smashed up , TKO, he competed well but his face lost the fight, end of story

What is with all of these drama queens who keep echoing how Vitaly's eye was going to fall out of the socket? An anatomical impossibility not at all consistant with some superficial cuts.

Simoly wishfull thinking from a bitter bunch of pricks that curse the day Vitaly was born.

Lewis wasn't almost knocked out so stop lying, and Vitalis cut was terrible. At the time it was possible that Vitalis eye could've been permanently injured. I had the score 3-3.

That's bigot with one "g" zipperhead. Lennox was about to carve Vitalis eye out.

Vitali got rocked hard in the 6th and never recovered in the round. He kept walking into bigger and bigger shots. The cut above the eye looked huge but hadn't really gotten worse in a round or two even with Lewis rubbing his head and hair in it whenever he could. Both guys hit their corner hard at the end of the 6th. Looked like neither had much left.

Both guys recover a little before the start of the seventh. Round starts with slow exchanges that both guys block with their faces. As round goes on the activity drops a bit. Cuts on Vitali have not worsened much because leather's not landing on them and not much clinching in the round. All kind of officials circle Vitali between rounds to obseve his cuts.

Round 8 both guys have suitably recovered now after a lazy seventh round and start listening to their corners again. Both corners call for the KO for obvious reasons. Start of round, heated exchange someone visibly beatien in it but other doesnt capatilise. Clinching, waiting, another exchange that goes the opposite way, clinching, waiting, another exchange but this one just keeps going. Both men plant their feet and just throw leather. Massive punches land on both men over and over until one lands right on the point of the chin. Then downnnnnn the big man goes. Not knocked out, but rocked and tired, trying to get up only makes it to a knee by the end of the count.

That's how it happened. Not sure who won though.

Agreed that cuts are by nature lucky. They just sort of happen, sometimes the glove lands 'right' and cuts the guy, sometimes it doesn't. To Lewis' credit, you can exploit a cut and work to open it more though.

V.K. is the most determined fighter I have ever seen with a series of cuts.... A real warrior was in that 2003 ring out in L.A.:bbb

Lewis was sucking wind and staggering forward outta desperation in round 6...
