Vitali would have got knocked out or quit, Vitali couldn't hurt Lewis and was hanging on for dear life in the 6th

We never got to find out what would of happened in the 7th rd.

Some ***** retired after promising a rematch.

    End result:-

    Lewis - tko6
    Vitali - Event win
    Lewis - sent into retirement

Nobody can really say what was going to happen, you can argue Lewis was winded and likely he was probably tired, But Vitali wasnt no spring chicken himself he was just as tired in that last round, he was the one holding on to Lewis as Lewis landed shot after shot and it wasnt no pitty pat shots he was landing big upper cuts, amazing Vitali took them...

However if history has shown us, Lewis has been behind on the cards and came back to win via knock out refer to lewis vs Bruno, However Vitali who was ahead on cards in a previous fight once he suffered an injury he quit the fight all together...

History has shown the ability that Lennox will dig down deep and pull it out of the fire if need be, Vitali hasnt shown that, though he attempted to redeem himself in that fight due to the way he quit against Byrd, he still has yet to come back from Adversity and pull off the win..

so in all honesty likely Lewis had the better chance of sealing the deal had the fight continued, But Vitali wasnt exactly going to allow that to be done so easily.... The issue I have with this topic being brought up time and time again is that it takes from the fight itself...

When else have you seen two big men like that war like that on that level in the ring? we really need to put this to rest and stop with this ****..

This. I know Dr. Paul Wallace personally and the first time I met him I asked about this fight. That cut was much worse than it looked, and it looked terrible.

Lets get real. Lewis was breaking him down on the inside. Walking him down. After Lewis nailed him with that uppercut, he had Vitali holding on because he was hurt. Lewis would've won that ****.

The argument is irrelevant anyway, the fight had to be stopped when it was because that cut was just too bad. Vitali would have been risking his eyesight if he had been allowed to continue. There was no alternative but to stop the fight when it was stopped.

Lewis should have given him a rematch, I'll always say that but there is no way the fight could have went on with that cut.

If they went to the 7th, Lewis would still have target practice on the eye and cheek of Vitali. It was a mess and would have gotten worse. Dr. Ironfist would have been Dr. Franekstien's monster.

I know that you probably don't know anyone in the fight game, so you hate from behind your keyboard.

It ends far more conclusively. But the winner doesn't change, as much as I respect Vitali as a man and a fighter.
