Vitali didnt look bad cause johnson didnt wanted to fight or has a great defense! He showed good defense but vitali didnt suprise him cause he was way too slow! Johnson saw als his shots coming and vitali didnt try anything new! and if vitali cant show something new he could have at least done more Rough him up! Pressure him more and hit him wherever you can cause he was there right in front of you! throw some series of combination! and the main thing: Throw punches with real power behind it!
I thought both fighters were poor, Vitali was slow and his timing was horrible, Johnson was a chicken **** but he is quite good in defence, if he put the damn effort in to counter and land shots he could have won rounds.
Did anyone else notice that Johson, just before answering the bell for round 2, let out a huge sigh, rolled his eyes, and then said something to the effect of "no i'm fine". I thought we were going to have another Oliver McCall moment. Both fighters looked very bad and had poor showings but I don't think Johnson wanted to be there at all.
I don't think Vitali ever looks that smooth, but he is definitely affective. I consider him the number 1 Heavyweight today. I think he would be tough to beat in any era. People don't realize how hard it is fighting someone 6' 8". He has a great chin, punches pretty hard, and is pretty coordinated for someone that big. I do think that he definitely looked like he has declined a little since his last few fights. I know fighting a 100% defensive minded fighter makes it tough to look real good, but he definitely looked a little slower and had less snap on his punces than in the past. We'll see how he looks in his next fight, but he may be slowing down.
vitali fought excellent fights against peters and arreola, then fought a third against an unwilling coward in johnson. But, the fight was not the worst I've ever seen. Ali-young takes that cake.
I should sue both fighters for loss of an hour. Johnson isn't even worthy of speaking on and Vitali didnt finish the turd off. Its one thing if a guys not competing but another if the "champ" doesnt act like a champ. Close the show. Or is the show ready to close for Vitali? Ohh my bad, David Haye will do that for us. And if Vitali's face was that cut up on 12 punches, imagine what a fast, slipping, bobbing and weaving, powefull left from Haye wil do to it.
Vitali looked good fighting a slick boxer that only had the intention to survive. Anyone who has boxed or sparred knows that it is easy to avoid being hit if you don't care about losing. But still, Vitali put forth an effective offense and was able to land cleanly on Kingpin.
