Vitali-Lyakovich on June 4?

liakhovich is not a bad fight at all! But it would been have better if liakhovich would have fought one fight before facing klitschko cause he has been badly inactive!

 

From what I remember the WBC named Vitali champion "emeritus" because he had taken medical leave, and they could no longer postpone the Rahman match. Emeritus was just supposed to be for the current champion to be mandated as the #1 upon his return from injury/leave. By doing so, Vitali was able to fully heal from his herniated discs and when done, he came back and was automatically made the #1 mandatory for Peter who had beaten Maskaev for the paper.

This whole superchamp is just ****, because Haye has not been lving up to his belt and facing his mandatories in a timely manor. Don't get me wrong, I am happy Wlad is getting him next, but like I said, I don't think the title will be onl the line.

 

It's a mandatory opponent so who cares about what the WBC thinks? They have nothing to do with it. Whether he's ranked or not, it doesn't matter.

It's an abysmal fight, even for a tune up. I feel sorry for the fans who will be told it could be a contest and will buy a ticket. Shameful.

 

At Least Lyackovich was a champion once. Its not Haye-Audley shameful. Its merely unfortuante he can't get someone better.

 

Its a better fight than Haye Fraudley, but not one I'll get too excited about. Staying busy fight.

 

I'm not going to defend the Harrison fight but he was European champion, which is far more qualifying than simply being a former world champ. "Former" being the key word because he's clearly shot and, after being shut out by Valuev, proved he doesn't belong anywhere near world level any more.

Though why people are mentioning Haye is besides me.

 

Liakovich just pulled out of his upcoming fight with an "injury." ...Vit fight could be on.

What? Lyakovich is shot! Sure, Harrison was a **** fighter but there's a limit before being a "former world champion" loses all credibility. Honestly, I'd pick Harrison to beat him now and I'd be surprised if anyone thinks any different.

He's a shot fighter. Being a "former world champion" means nothing, otherwise Vitali's next opponent would be Leon Spinks.

 

The sad fact is, there's only a few I would be happy with. Even if a fight with Dimitrenko was possible, who the **** cares? He's an awful fighter and I have no interest in seeing it.

Instead of fights I'd be "happy" about, which is very limited, these guys are better than Lyakovich currently is: Povetkin, Chambers, Thompson, Arreola, Chagaev, Valuev, Mormeck, Tua, Boytsov, Chisora, Pulev, Helenius, Peter, Tarver, Fury...in fact, how about Rahman who Vitali didn't fight years ago? Lyakovich is even a worse fighter than Holyfield is at this stage. Most of those are terrible fights too, but they're all better than a Lyakovich/Vitali fight.

 

And how you feel Lyak is a shot fighter? Cause he was dominated by Valuev? I bet Lyak right now would ko or tko Harrison.
