Maybe it is just an off night and he'll dispose of his next opponent in dominant fashion.

But at age 40, a bad night points more towards decline than off night imo.

He's still the clear number 2 in the world, and by rights chisora should have been atleast top ten for beating helenius but it still doesn't change the fact that the vitali who dominated kirk johnson and corey sanders would have brutalised del boy.

Why does it have to be on "his worst night"?? He didn't look GREAT because Chisora is a decent contender compared to the rest of the division.

    Vitali: 4 rounds

    Lewis: 2 rounds

On pace for the next 6 rounds Lewis did just as well as Chisora. Congrats Brittard

Vitali was pretty much the same as he has been for the last 2-3 years, only this time he was up against a young, tough fighter who was prepared to give and take for the full 12 rounds. All credit to Del boy here.

Well said , Chisora came to fight and was in shape and didn't gas over 12 twelve rounds from coming forward. Alot of times he was coming forward and not doing much else but his punches had bad intention and he wasn't going to laydown for Klitchsko.

my question is why doesn't Vitali use a jab, if that was Wlad when Chisora was coming in Wlad would have popped him all night with it. but vitali simply used a left uppercut or a straight right. I was surprised Vitali seemed so limited.

What really happened was Chisora coming forward and grabbing onto Vitali, he was coming forward all night, sometimes throwing punches, sometimes hugging. :deal

40 year old, one handed Vitali still whupped the young hungry lion! Chisora did come to fight though! That's more than anyone can say about Haye!

Sports Illustrated is reporting that Vitali sustained a hand/arm injury in the 4th round.

And if you look at the punch stats against Arreola (probably the most similar in style to Chisora that Vitali has faced), they back that up.

In 10 rounds against Arreola Vitali threw 519 jabs in 10 rounds.
Tonight Vitali threw 258 over 12 rounds.
