Vitali is heavier handed with arm punches but Wilder puts more into his power shots. Vitali is more of a volume guy. That said he still stops Wilder inside 5 rounds prime for prime. Comeback Vitali on it lasts longer with Wilder taking even more punishment before being saved by the ref or pulled out by his corner.
Williams said Vitali’s power was comparable to Tyson’s. Tyson he said hit slightly harder early but Vitali carried his power much better into the later rounds. High praise. I don’t see Wilder being compared to Tyson or Foreman yet Vitali’s was. Julius Francis said Vitali hit harder than Tyson.
Did Vitali even have a left hook? Wilder dropped guys hard with left hooks - Stiverne , Molina , Fury , Ortiz. . Johann Duhaupas was finished off with right hook left hook combo. Vitai had the better jab , but its obvious Wilder carried more power in both hands.
Vitali was stronger, which meant he could hurt you by putting (comparatively) less into a punch than Wilder. Wilder is more springy and fast-twitchy, which allows him to whip shots in with greater power, but he needs space to do so. Vitali was more likely to tenderise you to the point that you were too battered and mentally beaten to continue. Wilder is more likely to put you lights out with one shot once you slow down or slip up.
Wilder has natural punching power and no technique. Vitali had more technique and developed punching power over the years. So I'd say Wilder hit/hits harder
Only guessing, but i really cant see Vitali dropping Breazeale with one shot like this. https://thumbs.gfycat.com/IncompletePastHammerheadshark-size_restricted.gif @ Mods How can you inisert a gif? I tried it with "Media" and different other symbols...but it doesnt work... Thx.
Wilder probably hits harder, but, is an awful boxer. If the two men fought, Vitali definitely stops Wilder.
Wilder's right hand is probably more powerful than anything that Vitali threw. H2H though, Vitali and his granite chin is a complete nightmare for Wilder.
Wilder swung as hard as he could. Vitali was a boxer who happened to have heavy hands and a lot of power and seldom missed badly. With wilder who ko’d no top ten man under the age of 36, it was more of a desperation wind up shot. With Vitali the ko’s just happened. And he beat much better competition. Maybe Wilder hit a little harder vs journeyman level types. It’s close. Vitali was the much better boxer with a much better chin. Wilder was a belt milker who needed good match making. Like I said what did he win 3 rounds of 17 vs Fury?
Lol at all the people needing to make the conversation about h2h instead of just straight up admitting Wilder had more explosive 1 punch power. Back handed compliments.
I can't believe i am using a Wilder quote to sum up my opinion however i go along with his viewpoint. "These guys have to be perfect for 12 rounds, I only need to be perfect for two seconds". Wilder one punch power was his go to method of winning, Vitali fought with different mindset, a very successful mindset i might add, but one punch KOing was not generally in the plan.
