Vitali had this weird left hook that looked like a jab starting out but then he’d turn it over right at the end; it was a real short punch, and he didn’t use it very much. It was kind of similar to Wladimir’s left hook but Wlad threw it wider. You are probably correct that Deontay has a more powerful hook though.
Vitali is a nightmare for Wilder. Someone big who actually uses his height and is incredibly awkward to hit with the way Vitali used to lean back. Prolific puncher who was very accurate in his prime.
Vitali's hook had more power than his right. He shook Sam Peter with it in round one of their fight, and could land it whenever he pleased. Due to Wilders lack of quality opponents, they share few common opponents. The exception is Arreola, Vitali beat a then 27-0 Arreola who was ranked inside Ring Magazine top ten via 10th round TKO, it was shut near out on all three cards Judge: Ken Morita 99-91 Judge: Guido Cavalleri 100-89 Judge: Anek Hongtongkam 99-91 Wilder beat Arrolea, years later ( age 35, unranked ) when he was shot, and after he lost his next four matches . Wilder won in 8. Given his age and losing efforts that followed you can argue Wilder should have finished him sooner. The Arreola, Vitali Klitschko beat was much better. And speaking of Arreola, he's very important to Wilder's legacy, as he's the only reason Stiverne was ranked to begin with. The poorly skilled and old ( Age 36 ) Stiverne then went the distance with Wilder.
Wilder had a broken hand in the Stiverne fight and he pitched a shut out 1 sided win with a basic jab and lateral movement. He had a broken hand and torn bicep in the Arreola fight and still managed to stop him faster than Vitali. Stop hating.
When Vitaly fought low level competition early in his career he had a lot of KOs similar to Wilder. Wilder KOed mosly glass jaw journeyman. This content is protected
I think we both agree Vitali fought the better vision of Arreola by a good margin. Agreed? I was unaware Wilder broke his hand. Stiverene sucks, terrible skills and stamina. I already commented I think Vitali harder with his left, Wilder with his right. Vitali stopped a better class of fighters for sure. That is being honest.
Stiverne wasn't the most skilled champion but he was a champion and wilder outclassed him with a simple jab + lateral movement. This was in response to you trying to throw shade at wilder for "going the distance" with him when he his hand was broken. Yes Vitali fought a more prime version of arreola but wilder had a major handicap of a broken hand and a torn bicep. Do you have any idea how painful it would be to throw power punches and force a stoppage with those injuries? Yes Vitali had a better more functional left hand and a better jab but i have my doubts that he had more power in his left. Wilder has left hook knockouts, he didn't just have a right hand. How many does Vitali have?
Wilder hit harder, but Vitali beats him 10 out of 10. Vitali had a sturdy chin, while Wilder's chin is not very sturdy. Buzzed, wobbled on several occasions by shots that didn't look all that hard.
