Read that Vitali has an injured right hand and won't fight again this year. He may fight early next year.

father time is breaking the old man down, I hope that his fight vs Stiverne won't be one too many, he's had a long career with tons of injuries, he has nothing left to prove

Terrible news. Will the WBC allow an interim fight to happen?

Quack Quack . Dr. Duck strikes again.

Obvious excuse to avoid his mandatory.

He has no business with that belt anymore. Its an outrage the WBC won't strip him.

I agree. It's clearly the end of the road for Vitali and he has had a pretty good career.

I wouldn't mind seeing him fight again but if he calls it quits I couldn't blame him.

Your right he needs to be stripped right away. And they said he MIGHT return next year. How the hell did he hurt his hand??? The WBC needs to grow a pair and strip him. Just keep a eye on the news. Anyday now your going to read Wlad is injured and is forced to pull out of his fight with Povetkin.

If he hasnt fought in ages, and I assume he hasnt been training . . . well, how the hell did he supposedly hurt his hand? Jacking off?

The WBC is a joke. I like that Andre Ward stood up to them!

Excatly. He has no fight confirmed so he wouldn't be in any training camp.
Bounty his sending the WBC fat checks , same as he's doing the IBF.
Sterivne is a worthy challenger and earnt his title shot but is going to get fobbed of cos of k2's dirty tactics.
Boxing needs a fresh HW scene something terrible.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made an Interim champion, but if he is able to fighting the extremely early part of 2014 they'll probably let him keep the Belt till then. The WBC could also possibly be waiting to hear if Vitali will indeed retire after this recent set back, so they can avoid the Interim champion fight, and go straight into a regular Championship fight.

Do feel bad for Stiverne. He's been waiting for quite some time
