Vitali would have had zero problems knocking out Rahman.

Vitali has zero reason to duck Stiverne. I hope Vitali fights Stiverne ASAP, I want to see a good knockout. Yes, Stiverne has no chance of beating Vitali, he will just get knocked out. Perhaps Vitali could knock Wilder out for a tune-up, but Vitali came back after a 4 years layoff and stopped Peter in 8 rounds. Nobody can beat Vitali. Lewis did not defend his title for over two years and I did not see anyone complain. Double standard................Of course Vitali enemies want Vitali to retire, they have been calling for that for years. By the way, how in the Hell did Wilder get ranked in the top ten without fighting anyone in the top 30 or 100?! Don't see any complaining about that. I think Vitali will knock Stiverne out, then knock Wilder out..........then he can retire.........

The WBC should have Stiverne fight the winner of Arreola-Mitchell for an interim title,.

Or, they could make Vitali emeritus again and have Stiverne fight the winner of Arreola-Mitchell (or Haye-Fury) for the WBC title with Vitali as mandatory when he's healthy again.

They should just strip him. Vitali is pretty much retired. If the old man can't fight anymore, just call it a career and let the next generation fight for the belts.

This a clear duck from v klit. Wbc do your job and strip him. Stirverne earn his # 1 ranking. To be honest he has been the mandatory for 2 yrs now.

You clowns talking about stripping are morons. But I will give you this: The WBC should call for an immediate interim fight between Stiverne and the next highest ranking contender at a 50/50 purse split, say for October.

Then Vitali has to fight the interim champion within 6 months time until March 2014 at a 70/30 purse split. I think that would be fair to Stiverne and everyone else.

If there's any justice whatsoever, the WBC will strip him and Stiverne will fight the Mitchell/Arreola winner for the vacant title. Before I get blasted, just keep in mind that this guy hasn't had a mandatory defense in almost 2 years.

I understand that sanctioning bodies often give long reigning champions the benefit of the doubt but this is just holding up progress.

I actually don't think we'll see Vitali in a ring again other as besides his brother when he has a fight.

Shame, cause Stiverne is a very beatable opponent and perfectly to look good against with big Vit's style.

So you think the mano should have to take a step back because vitali is a pu$$y and has ducked everyone of note for years now. I see. Good point.

He will most likely fight the winner of Haye-Fury when he returns.

According to WBC rules a fighter holding one of their belts has to make at least one mandatory defense per year. Vitali's last mandatory defense was Solis back in April 2011 (or was Adamek a mandatory? I cant remember).

Stiverne won a heavyweight eliminator against Ray Austin in June 2011 to become mandatory but for some reason the WBC allowed Vitali to sidestep Stiverne in order to fight Adamek, Chisora and Charr then ordered Stiverne to fight Arreola in another eliminator for a mandatory shot.

Now Vitali out injured until 2014 and I have seen or heard nothing about how the WBC plan to deal with the fact that their champion can't fight. Will they strip him for his failure to keep to their rules and not having fought a mandatory in almost two or two-and-a-half years? Will they have Stiverne fight the next highest ranked fighter for an Interim Title then have the Interim Champion fight Vitali upon hi return? Or will they do nothing and leave their whole heavyweight scene in limbo?

Adamek was also a mandatory, if I'm not mistaken

Still spouting the Lewis never fought for 2 years eh.
Lewis beat Rahman in 2001 to regain the WBC belt. then fought a washed-up tyson in 2002 the on 2 weeks notice took a late replacement for the WBC mandatory defense in Vitali in june 2003 (AKA TKO6)

if you ever get his balls out of your mouth long enough to breathe someday
maybe you'll respond with some actual facts. Like how about showing me when in Lewis's career did he go 2 years without fighting?
