And Lewis was training for Johnson. Big difference.

You know both guys were training for different opponents so why bring up Vitali and not Lewis, oh that's right, it doesn't fit with your agenda.

When Vitali hangs up those gloves it will be the Lewis loss that was his most memorable fight. His big moment was losing to Lewis. That's what will go down in the history books.

Seeing as you're a racist I don't think you're in any position to refer to other people as 'dicks'.

Like it or not Lewis is probably the only heavyweight champion that retired under such conditions. Nobody bails out when there is such a clear threat to your title. When Joe Louis got a gift decision against Wolcott he didn't call it a day, he got in the ring and KO'd Wolcott in the rematch. That is how Lewis should have handled his business.

Lewis was at the end of a great career. He was on his way out, he was old and wel past his prime. He should be praised for even stepping up to fight Vitali in the first place, let alone beating him. Hating on Lewis seems popular though.

Eventhough I'm a much bigger fan of Lewis than Vitali I always tought of it as a b*tch move on Lewis side. Of course he was 37 and over the hill, but still a b*tch move after he promised a rematch

Typical German, blinded by Klitschko love, the country that can't create fighters of its own so it robs them from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia ect and claims them as their own and hires corrupt refs and judges to keep them unbeaten, german boxing, rotten to the core.

Holyfield promised Ruiz a rematch, and here we are almost 10 years later wishing he just retired.

Absolute lies. Klitschko was in training for Cedric Boswell on the undercard. He was far more prepared for Lewis than vice versa. As an article I read on it once said, Lewis had achieved his goal by beating Tyson, and was only keeping busy with Kirk Johnson while waiting for a rematch with Tyson. Hence he was under-prepared and out of shape.

There is a lot of corruption in German boxing for sure and lots of gift decisions, but it´s not like US boxing is free of corruption and gift decisions either. You ever heard of Don King?

As a fan of both Lewis and the Klitschkos I´m not that biased on Lewis/Vitali and I´ll give my opinion.

I think Lewis won the fight fairly but Vitali made a very good showing. It must be said that Lewis was somehow not in shape or had gotten old because he looked slow in the fight. Some people point to how Rahman KOed an out of shape Lewis but Vitali lost to one, but then again Rahman lost most or all of the rounds until he landed that haymaker on Lewis, while Vitali won about 4 out of the 6 rounds they fought.

I do think Lewis retired because he was afraid Vitali might beat him. After all, Lewis had promised Vitali a rematch. I think Lewis just realized he´d gotten old and would be taking too big a risk. I don´t think Lewis "knew he´d end up losing", he just wasn´t sure enough about being able to win.

I also think that prime for prime Lewis would probably beat either of the Klitschkos, although both would still have some chance of winning.
