anyone else feel that that the fight this weekend between peter/vitali is going to be a fierce war? one of the better heavyweight fights in a long time? I really think that way. You have 2 very motivated guys in there. Vitali I know, is going to have some ring rust but i honestly feel he puts peter to sleep. the last 2 things to go on a fighter is chin and power. Vitali has always had those. People question his heart. First off, I will give you that on the byrd fight. He was killing him and he could have just fought the 2 last rds with his hands down and caught ever byrd punch flush and he still would have won. The lennox fight was stopped by the judges. Those are not opinions. Those are facts. Peter going to come out bombing and walk into an awkward right hand and puts him flat on his back.
It will be the best Heavyweight title fight since Brewster fought Liakhovich in April of 06, it will be fought at the same pace and end earlier, probably in the middle rounds sometime. I beg even non Heavyweight fans to watch this fight come saturday, you will be in for a treat, when you see two tough Heavyweights go at it, one that are not afraid of getting hit.
I think it'll be a great fight, not in that it'll be competitive, as it won't be......but it'll be wildly entertaining to see Peter's will and chin put to the kind of test that Vitali's size, power, and skill advantage will put him to. As Merchant said when Wlad was pounding on Samuel Peter: He's like a wounded bull, in there, Jim. Its like chopping on a mahogany tree! I think Peter will withstand some monster shots then mid rounds, with a swollen and bloodied face, he'll start to crumble. I predict we'll see a very dramatic ending as Peter is finally put out of his misery.
