From Dan Rafael's latest notebook on ESPN.com

Interesting, even though I never even heard of this network until reading Dan's article (and apparently it's available already with my Dish package). I wonder if this is the the unnamed network who was rumored to be interesting in luring Sergio Martinez away from HBO late last year.

Dish network is the only current major distributor who cares Epix(pronounced EPICS).Direct TV refuses to carry this channel as it feels there is enough"premium" channels currently.
    Epix costs $10 a month,as opposed to Showtime$12 and HBO $14.
Interesting developements, especially when Showtime owns Epix, along with CBS and MGM.:good

This is according to Dan Rafael

"Klitschko is set to face mandatory challenge Odlanier Solis (17-0), a 2004 Cuban Olympic gold medalist, in Germany -- Klitschko's home base. The American television coverage of the bout likely will be handled by fledgling premium cable network Epix, which is interested in making boxing part of its offerings. This is great news for fight fans."

I don't know much about this channel, if I have it, or even if it's available...going to have to research this.

I'd be happy with ESPN3. I was very skeptical of it at first, but it's turned into an awesome service.

Okay, here's what I've found out so far, and it's NOT good news. In fact, it's terrible news.

    DirecTV does NOT carry EPIX.

Comcast and Cablevision both do NOT carry EPIX.

Dish Network carries EPIX, and EPIX 2. However, you have to subscribe to their highest HD package (Dish Platinum) to even receive the channels.

Cox, Charter, and Mediacom all carry EPIX.

I don't know about others...but to me this seems like a step backwards from the ESPN delayed, ESPN3 live broadcast.

Klitschko-Solis will air live at 6 p.m. ET on Epix, as well as be streamed live on its website, with a network replay at 10 p.m. ET. Replays, he said, will also be available on the website and via the network's on demand platform. He also said that while the live broadcast will only include the main event the replay could also include undercard action.

Based on the article. If you don't have the station, you still can stream it on their website. Doesn't seem all that bad at all.

Why do you want to watch such a mismatch?

A newer (maybe 1-2 years old) premium cable/sat tv channel....mostly movies...which is why it seems weird that they would be broadcasting a boxing match. I would have never guessed it.

What is that supposed to mean? Vitali is fighting his mandatory, and it's for the heavyweight championship. Vitali always brings it. If that doesn't interest you, maybe you should find another sport, imo.

In other posts you've said you want Solis to win, and that if Solis is in shape Vitali will be in for a tough fight. So for yourself to call it a mismatch, you are automatically assuming that Solis will not be in shape.
