Teddy Atlas picked Solis to beat Vitali easily. AtlASS also picked Kirk Johnson by knockout. AtlASS also picked, Gomez, Peter, etc.

    Titty AtlASS makes me puke!

Dude's fat. But since it's a Klitschko fight, it won't be as entertaining as this clip, with another fat dude.

Me neither. I showed that picture to two of my friends but they thought it was photoshopped and laughed at me for even trying to fool them.
I'd really like to hear the story behind that shiny piece of **** from Solis himself.

What I tried to say is that " the majority of Cuban boxers " from the Cuban boxing school are trained that way. Now, Gomez didn't follow what he was tought in Cuba and remember that Gomez left Cuba at 22 years old and became a pro very early.

I would say that there are Cuban boxers who stare at their opponents before the fight but they are only a few. For example, Solis is not a starer and this is why he wasn't looking at Vitaly eye to eye.

I think that Solis was staring at the WBC Belt and thinking to himself, " Wow, I can't believe that I am actually fighting for the World Heavyweight Championship " and he was possibly remembering his times and struggles in Cuba in the harsh amateur system...

And remember, the students are taught to do something but it's always " up to them to follow their instructions ", the coach or the teachers cannot do it for them. Just watch many fights of the other Cuban amateur greats and you will see that 98% of them are not interested in looking at their opponent in the eye, they are just there to outbox them! :good

Maybe Teddy is Biased when it comes to making predictions. But Teddy is one of the most knowledgeable persons in boxing today but it seems that he let's his personal emotions get involved in his decisions. He may have been wrong before but this time he hit the nail on the head !!! :good

    Solis by late TKO.

Let me just throw something out there for everyone here to annalize.

Cuban Felix Savón KO'ed Shannon Briggs in the 1st round at the 1991 PanAm Games in Habana. And old and washed up Shannon Briggs lasted the full 12 rounds against Vitaly. Felix Savón couldn't KO Solis in 3 amateur bouts and Solis beat Savón 2 times...
Felix Savón would had KO'ed Vitaly any day of the week...

    Just something to think about...

Let me throw this out there for you to analyze, and give you something to think about.

Julius Long has been KO'd by Samuel Peter in 1 round, Alexander Ustinov in 1 round, Tye Fields in 3 rounds, and Audley Harrison in 2 rounds. Long was just knocked down twice by Kevin Johnson this last Saturday.

Solis fought Long to a UD win.

So you see, it goes both ways.

Yes I know, I am not trying to say that to make a total statement but as a guideline. But remember that Solis fought Long when he was like 8-0 and that was the first really tall fighter ( actually the tallest ever ) that he was going to face. Actually he had Long almost gone against the ropes but the giant managed to get out of trouble. Also, all those fighters you mentioned are at least 6'3 and up and Solis is barely 6'1. Also, the present Solis is better and stronger than the 8-0 Solis, he has proved it...

    Something to think about... :good

Well, in his last fight, the present Solis was 13 pounds heavier than the Long fight. I do expect Solis to come in lighter than the Austin fight...by how much is only a guess until the weigh-in.

I watched a couple of Solis previous HW fights and while most people here just focus on his physical shape you still have to give credit to his good boxing skills. He has good accuracy, has a feeling as to where his opponent will move -- he posses excellent ring generalship that partly neutralizes the extra 20lbs he's carrying. At least for a few rounds.

Let's face it, Vitali had trouble hitting a scared and paralyzed Johnson who was cowering in the corner. I wouldn't be surprised if Vitali has trouble hitting a technically skilled albeit slow-footed amateur champ like Solis. My gut feeling is that the first 5-6 rounds will be about even and people will just blame it on Vitali being old and slow.

I still think he will end up outworking Solis in the 2nd half as Solis will be gasping for air after a couple of Vitali's trademark bodyshot bombs.
