It doesn't matter than Sosnowski is a mediocre opponent, those tens of thousands of fans are not turning up wanting to see a life and death battle.

They want to see their chosen gladiator, in this case Vitali, beat someone up real good. They're incredibly likely to get that. Happiness will occur.

 

Most of the casual German fans are not that well known in the world wide boxing scene.

That said, i think they care more about an exciting fight than whether or not it is close.

For instance, Sonowski and Kevin Johnson are probably of the same level, but the former makes for a very exciting fight, while the latter put many to sleep. But both are "easy" wins, as long as Vitali's body still holds up at 38.

Say what you want, but for a 38 year old, Vitali is very active. After Sonowski, he needs to fight a top ranked opponent again though.
