I remember Golota was saying recently (somewhere before Adamek) that it would be big downgrade for him if he would be matched with Sosnowski ... imagine how much Andrew would love to fight him in a case if Albeart miraculously beat Vitaly and win WBC title
Adamek said it would be a downgrade too to fight Sosnowski. Here's Adamek trying to go through the trenches to earn a title shot, while Albert gets this gift. Life can be so unfair.
If Golota doesn't heal from his injury and trim down he's going nowhere, and his age does not help. And the strategy of being a punching bag against Adamek doesn't work, regardless of how tough he is.
Vitali's just about the biggest cockblocker in the sport. Kevin Johnson vs. Odlanier Solis would have been a good proving-grounds fight between two hyped guys (one hyped by himself, and one hyped by a bunch of nationalistic cubanos) to determine a worthy contender. Then along comes Vitali. Now this, a good crossroads fight to determine who finally gets a last stab at a real HW (non-WBF) title. Then along comes Vitali. He's like the jerk who shows up stag to prom, and then cuts in for a steamy dance with everybody else's girl!
He wasnt when they negotiated with Vitali. Only after he was turned down by Vitalis camp he made decision to fight in MMA
Why unfair ...Adamek was offered to fight Vitaly before his fight with Golota and he turned it down, whenever he felt he was ready or not, he had his chance but refused. Sosnowski got his offer and he could say the same that he is not ready, he need to beat crap out of Harrison first but he decided to get his chance ... thats seems totally fair between them.
I think that Adamek is on the other position to negotiate than Sosnowski. Albert probably wouldnt get the 2nd chance, while Adamek is a very good challenger for every HW champion (money, TV, former 2-div champion).
Agree, but he cannot say unfair to his life. Adamek is a warrior and he will die like a warrior, that his way maybe he will not be HW champion but he will be remembered longer than some lesser fighters with unbeaten record.
Pianeta should also have a loss to Sosnowski on his record. Sosnowski clearly won that fight. I'm not surprised the casual German viewer is so easily duped; the highlights at the end of each round focused exclusively on Pianeta's offence, even when he wasn't landing (which was most of the time).
Cheers. Most pessimistic i've been entering a major tournament in a while. Anyway we'll see. I've still not forgiven you ****ers for eliminating us in qualifying in '74.
