I think Albert brings more to the ring and Solis can't draw a crowd. Tua wouldn't be able to hit VK, and Dimitrenko would be a waste of time. Toney out of the question.

    Filler fight.

But, funny from the point of view against Audley. The whole reason he was fighting Sosnowski was in hopes of getting a Klitschko 'lucky dip' choice.

Instead, not only has that fight gone but his opponent is the one that's got it instead.

    Life, eh?

I agree but Golota's shoulder is still shot. I think he had another operation and still recovering. But a healthy Golota vs. Vitali would be fun to see, to say the least.

Vitali ought to knock this guy out quick.

Sosnowski is the kind of fighter you'd expect a 47 year old Holyfield to beat up within 5 rounds.

Thanks for the update, Golota was never one to back down from a challenge/opertunity. When I think of active fighters who have faced the toughest competition over the span of their careers. I have it 1. Holyfield 2. Ruiz 3. Golota. Though I could see how someone could have Golota ahead of Ruiz as well.

I will tell you a fight I would like to see, which is one that I feel Golota can win and make a nice paycheck and one last chance at a title shot. Holyfield/Golota, winner gets Haye for the WBA.

No he wouldn't. Golota only melts when faced with a serious puncher who will come straight at him. Holyfield won't. Golota feared very well against both Bryd in 03 and Ruiz in 05, fights I had him winning. He floored Ruiz a couple times and outboxed a prime Chris Bryd to a draw. Ruiz is on par with Holyfield power wise, so I feel if Golota gets past the first he may outbox Holyfield to victory. His jab alone can break Evander down. I have it a 50/50 fight, if it goes past the 3rd round I feel Golota would win.

I think even this, 40lbs overweight version of Solis is much, much better than Sosnowski, who isn't quite good enough to be described as "ordinary". A fat Solis' skills are on a different level.

I also think Kevin Johnson would beat Sosnowski by near shut-out. Even in a poor era of Heavyweights, even Sosnowski's mother wouldn't have the temerity to describe him as even fringe world-class.

Vitali doesn't even have to train for this one.

one of the worst HW title matchups that I can recall. I was really hoping for Solis, if not Valuev. Sosnowski is an ESPN2 undercard fighter at best.

He is the Bobby Gunn of heavyweights.

True, but he should have backed down from Adamek. He never recovered from his injury, underestimated Adamek and came in overweight. If Golota comes in injured and/or not properly prepared he would lose to Holyman.

Well of course, just like when Holyfield lost to Larry Donald back in 04. I remember him fighting with a shoulder injury and he got his ass boxed from pillar to post.

Golota should comeback, fight a few C class guys and move his way up slowly. The division isn't getting any better, and by 2011 he should have a title match lined. If lame ass fighters like Sosnowski can a get a title shot, a name fighter like Golota should have no problem securing one.

I haven't read one of your posts in awhile.
I agree with you on Thompson and Chagaev.
Tony could have possibly cut Vitali and made it interesting.
That would have made for a great fight!
    Sanders caused Vitali fits...
