i reckon he will make a fight of it , hes a tough guy and Vitali aint what he once was , he punches to control a fight now not so much to destroy an opponent. Vitali should deffo still win but I'll be very surprised if Sosnowski doesnt give it a good shake while he can
Combination of that and the fact, big athletic guys can on average make more money playing other sports. Theres just a bigger chance of making it as a proffessional ball player than a heavyweight champ making millions.. So Eastern Europe catching up, and U.S. athletes dispersing.
true true , the europeans have improved , maybe that all it is. Its just so many of the American Heavies of the moment seem unmotivated or lazy even and thats generally not the way American athletes are so are we in boxing just getting the dross ?
CHEF, kudos on another job well done with Vitali. You can tell the difference in his shape between this fight and the Johnson fight, Vitali looks more defined. Sosnowski looks in great shape, that expanded torso is a bit off putting however, HGH belly?
I've seen a few Sosnowski fights, he's a good compact tidy fighter. Has a very good work rate for a heavyweight plus he's in shape. Seems to have done a lot of strength work, the plan may be to try and get inside and rough Vitali up. Bottom line is, Sosnowski CANNOT and MUST NOT stay at the end of that jab, as so many opponents have done. He'll need to take risks and I get the feeling he will. I think if Sosnowski puts it on him we may get to see how much Vitali has left. Remember that those years of injuries must have taken its toll, and at 38 how much has he slowed? It may give someone a chance, can Sosnowski get in range enough to test Vitali?? that is the what it comes down to. It may be a decent fight and never write off the underdog, anything can happen on the day.
I just RE watched the Vitali Lewis and , they say Lewis was out of shape but what ever . Out of shape for Lewis isnt out of shape. They tired becasue of punching the hell out of each other. the out of shape comments really are people giving him an excuse
As an American I think it is because when America was dominant in boxing the Eastern Bloc countries were not producing pros. They produced plenty of top amateurs, but they couldn't turn pro. Now they can.
Agreed. I've got a picture taken during the fight of Lewis-Vitali hanging on my office wall, and Lewis was not out of shape. Maybe not the best he's ever been, but he was still in very good shape. Lewis carried around 5lbs extra from his average weight in that fight....which really is not much at all on someone of his size.
when sosnowski fought williams he looked so out of shape and blubbery......****ING HELL. dudes monsterized. MENERGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But big guys from Eastern Europe can go into basketball, hockey and rugby. This argument goes both ways. There are far fewer heavyweights from the former USSR than there are from America.
