Are they sick or something? What the hell are all those disgusting bumps? Their torsos aren't smooth like other elite heavies like Toney and Arreola.

Never got that either. They're professional athletes, knowing the shape they're in will largely determine their succes and thus their income. Plus they know they can't go on forever (or you have to be Holy) and so will the moneyflow. I would love to be in a position to be a pro athlete, beats working all the time. And I'm saying this typing on a boxsite during my work hours ;)
See, that's why those guys don't train! Look what's happening to those guys bodies... definately a allergic reaction!

You are only looking at this from one perspective. The answer isn't as clear-cut as you may be suggesting. It isn;t as simple as "The opening of the Eastern Bloc" and it isn't as simple as "All the HW are in the NFL"

I understand how the Eastern Bloc has influenced the HW landscape, but you should try to understand the influence of ESPN, High School, and College Sports on the midset of young Americans. Any athletic child over 6'0" is immediately swarmed by Baskeball and Football coaches. What we have left in the Heavyweight division is a much weaker pool of guys than what he we have had in the past.

The popularity and security offered by other sports. For example, the NBA didn't truly start paying guys anything worth bragging about until the Bird vs. Magic era. That was in the nineteen eighties. Not to mention what college basketball and football programs offer talented players, i.e., a free education, if they're good enough.

    What does boxing offer?

Let's not get revisionist here. He certainly wasn't fat. He wasn't in the best shape of his career, but he didn't have arreola-like man tits. :D

I'd have to disagree with this. Making in the NBA is almost impossible. There are only 400 players on NBA rosters and if you're not a very good even great college player you have zero shot of being drafted.

They both look in great shape. Refreshing to see two heavies look that good, props to both men.

I was just thinking that. The HW division is pathetic at the moment, but well done to these guys for at least being professionals.

NBA, I used to play high school football and cover college ball, I know that it is a huge business here. You're accusing me of making a clear cut argument, but I am not. I am saying that the combination of the opening of the Eastern Bloc and the growth of professional sports other than proper football and rugby across the European continent is what has caused this shift. We cannot really compare it to American football because no one really plays our sport. I am sure a fair number of rugby players would give anyone in the NFL a run for their money.
