He should retire now, he looks at about 40-50% of what he was in his prime. There is no need for him to carry on and be KO'd due to old age.
keep away from a guy who has accomplished nothing in 4 years as a heavyweight except a paper title ,corpses and a fraudly.
Has RJJ taught us NOTHING? If Vitali doesn't retire immediately, he will accomplish 3 things: 1: Tarnish his legacy forever. 2: Give publicity & a huge payday to a few fighters who absolutely don't deserve it. 3: Delay even further the rise of some very excitng / promising prospects (Mitchell, Wilder, Glazkov, etc) since the promoters still don't need those guys in the spotlight in order to make millions. Imagine if both Klits retired right now? How would the promoters make any money with Hayesora / Heleneola? They'd HAVE to bring up the younger, more exciting fighters.
Not sure. It depends. If he performs as well as he did vs. Adamek, Peter, and Arreola recently, I would say yes he has 5 or 6 more top level fights in him. If he has another performance like he did vs an under rated Chisora, I think he retires in 1-3 more fights. I would like to see Vitali fight Povetkin or Haye next.
If he tore a shoulder tendon, I think he may retire now. But if he thinks he can really get Haye in the ring for a big payday, he will probably get the surgery, heal and go on to fight Haye. But I think a Haye fight will be his only motivation to continue.
They've already stated publicly that it was minor scar tissue, and Vitali will be able to continue fighting without any real delay. I sure hope he reconsiders.
