His win over Sanders was good. Aside from that... Meh.

Whilst never being down, he has twice been stopped when he stepped up a level in competition.

    I don't understand your question.

Either way the two times he stepped up in competition he failed to finish the fight, he did not see the final bell, he was stopped, many different ways of saying the same thing.

No it isn't a TKO, it's listed as RTD

A KO, TKO, RSF (Ref or Doctor) = stoppage

RTD means the fighter refused to continue (or corner refused to allow fighter to continue).

He could have continued, but refused to do so due to injury. It's not a stoppage on Byrd's part. Otherwise the fight would have been ruled a TKO

Vitali was beating Crisp Tyrd with one arm, but when his arm went numb he had to quit, if he had not his career would have been over. Byrd really had no chance Vs. Vitali or Vlad. Vitali was in surgery for over 2.5 hours. I am glad he did the right thing. Vitali is the very best..................

It's a stoppage on Vitali his own part.

Read actual boxing rules instead of just making up your own, then comment.

I have been putting up with all this Klitschko hate/bias since Vlad won the gold in Atlanta back in 1996!!! Boxing writers lying about them etc. Steward said he knew they were good the first time he saw them fight.

Let's call it what I think everyone can agree on, including me, a quittage. In hindsight also, it was arguably the right decision.
