Briggs says Vitali is the best he has ever fought ,, even better than forman, even better than Lewis
for me I have always knew Vitali was the best .
Lewis also knew it thats why he would not rematch him , end of story!!

Vitali > Lewis. Everyone knows it deep down in their hearts, even if it hurts.

But Lewis beat Briggs when he was capable of moving and punching. Even the Sky Sports called him a "quick counter-puncher." Let's face it Briggs was never great but he was at least decent/good at one point. This was along time ago.

Lewis also beat Briggs. But sure, Vitali is better!

Lewis is #1. I have Vitali at #3 or #4.

For a man in "decline", winning every round is a pretty good position to be in.

it would have been very impressive had the opponent not been shot.

I can't remember which poster said it, but they said something along the lines of; "A fighter never says the guy who knocked him out first is the best he ever fought". As I said, I can't remember the poster, but they appear to have been right.

Vitali just pummeled Briggs tonight but I don't see how that's as impressive as Lewis stopping a younger, lighter and better Briggs.

Shannon had just been thrashed for 12 straight rounds - I'm not surprised he feels Vitali is the best he's ever been in with. If Lennox had landed the punches Vitali did tonight, would it have went the distance? The fact is, Lewis beat a much better Briggs, in more impressive fashion.

It's true. Roy doesn't say it about Tarver
Tyson doesn't say it about Douglas
Lewis doesn't say it about Mccall

Briggs was just being a good sportsman. He's hardly going to say anything else in front of that crowd.
