I never even knew it was on:nut

    On the other site...

The problem, as previously reported, is money. Haye is requesting a huge guarantee to fight Vitali, but Boente believes there is too much financial risk to meet that number - because the British public is still steaming over Haye's in-ring performance with younger brother Wladimir Klitschko from last July. Even Haye admits his performance against Wladimir was lackluster, but his post-fight excuse of an injured toe was the kicker which sent the paying public into a fury.

"We made an offer two weeks ago and he turned it down. We are not even negotiating anymore. He wants a huge guarantee and there is too much risk. We don't know how the British pay-per-view will do because Haye is not a superstar anymore because of his performance with Wladimir. As of right now the fight is off. Knock on wood that Vitali beats Chisora on Saturday night, we will start negotiating with some opponents but it won't be David Haye"

Haye's value dropped considerably after toe-gate. He should take what he is given, its another shot at the heavyweight title for crying out loud! A shot he doesnt even deserve!

I'm wondering how much they are thinking the PPV buys would be for this fight in the UK:think

I suppose it's not quite as bad as as ducking Adamek but never the less it doesn't look to clever from Haye.

    Haye isn't ducking Vitali?
It,s the ONLY fight he is interested in. If it doesn't happen he,ll retire.
Is just typical posturing from K2 to get more money. They always do it. Apparently Chisora is on very low money this week.

& should he win he's tied to an immediate rematch with Wlad, also on low money :-(

    Standard K2 contract.

I hope it really is off and we get Haye vrs. Adamek or Arreola instead.

But history suggests this is all just marketing and the fight is as on as ever.

Or.......Haye doesn't fight Vitali but takes a fight with Hasim Rahman instead. I could see that happening too.
