Why on earth would anybody want to see Haye fight ever again? The man openly takes the **** out of the paying public with the Harrison farce and his total non-attempt in the Wlad "fight", yet people are still willing to line this mans pockets. Mind blowing.
Until we know what Haye is asking for, we don't know if he's being unrealistic. I can understand the Klits reluctance if he wants a high guaranteed purse. I'm not convinced Sky would even be interested in making this fight a PPV
I can't get into this again as these are exactly the same arguments that we had last time round when Haye was negotiating with Wlad, just see those threads and pick an answer.
Would the mainstream fans buy into Haye AGAIN? The bloke was terrible against Valuev, terrible against Audley and similar against Wlad. Can we trust that Haye will fight a giant without massively backing off. I doubt it. I'd follow the fight and watch but on PPV I would try to stop myself wasting my money. But I'm a hardcore fan and not an accurate reflection of my mainstream mates who have been let down by Haye repeatedly.
That is completer rubbish, Haye still brings a huge amount. Look at Audley, for all his talk and crapness he still puts bums on seats, the figures are there. It is a fact!!! Haye is still one of the most explosive and exciting fighters we have (unless retired). And he will of course drum up loads of interest. Before any **** for brains gives me stick in no way am I saying he deserves anywhere near like the deal he got last time.
This time around he brings much less to the table. Besides legitimacy, there's tangible things like 1. no belt 2. no HBO interest. Hershman made a point of saying they had no interest in Vitaly Haye 3. questionable domestic appeal. No sky ppv, I'd guess, since he is 2/3 of why they left the ppv business altogether.
Haye has no real options. He can't just fight a nobody and expect to make money because he doesn't have a belt to defend. He still expects big money from a Klitschko fight (the audacity!) but they don't have to deal with him. He's just going to have to risk fighting a decent heavyweight who isn't called Klitschko- something he hasn't done since fighting Valuev Adamek would be the smart move on his part of course. Stylistically it's a perfect fight for Haye and one he can shoot back up the rankings again by taking. He'd actually be a fool not to, unless we're all underestimating Adamek now
Brings a huge amount my arse Considering he got SKY to quit doing PPVs, what kind of money do you think he brings to the table?
Which Klitschko challengers have earned as little as that? Most of the guys facing them earn the highest paydays of their careers. Thats true but the Klitschkos dont need Haye to 'put bums on seats' as they do that no matter who they fight. Right now Wladimir Vs Mormeck has sold 35,000 tickets and Wlads fights against Chambers,Peter and now Mormeck have sold more tickets than the Haye fight.
What part of his heavyweight run did you consider entertaining or indicative of him actually posing a serious threat stylistically to either Klitschko?
