I wonder if he'll still try a tune-up fight or just wait.

Vitali is staying away from boxing because he's gonna be in the Kiev elections.

Overall, this has been ridiculous and pathetic. He announced his comeback in Febraury 2007. He still haven't had a ****in fight. Pathetic.

If he can beat Gomez, he will get it after Peter-Maskaev/Vitali Klitschko. But if he loses to JCG, he can kiss the title shot goodbye.

Yes, Virchis is the number 1 contender in the WBC, but I think the WBC said McCall gets to fight the guy who emerges out of the Klitschko, Maskaev, Peter mess. If he beats Gomez, I think that would make him more worthy of a shot than Virchis, but at the moment, I think Virchis is every bit as/if not more worthy than McCall.

All this means is that Britaly is going to hold the WBC title hostage all through 2008, even if he doesn't hold it.

The only shot Vitali gets next year is a cortisone shot.
