vitali too old at 37 and rusty 4 peter????

So much of Vitali's defense is predicated upon judging distance and timing, leaning back and away from punches. When he was in his prime, it was uncanny how good he was at it; you couldn't count the number of haymakers that missed his face by a couple inches. But now, given his age and inactivity, I could easily see Peter taking his head off.

This fight is so hard to predict, if Vitali is back to where he was when he retired, i favour him but i can't see that so i could definetly see a Peter KO happening.

 

There is no way to accurately predict what kind of shape Vitali will show up in. I expect him to be significantly worse than he ever was, but even a 70% version of prime Vitali should still be able to beat today's Peter.

 

If Vitali is only at 54%, he will knock Peter out.

Vitali has been working out duing most of his layoff, he never gets out of shape. Peter can't box worth a crap, so ever an rusty Vitali will be more skilled than Peter. Vitali was six time world kickboxing champion both pro and amateur, International Amateur Boxing Champion, World military Champion, etc. Also WBO and WBC heavyweight champion. His really hits extremely hard.

 

Vitali is coming off a 4 year lay-off with some serious injuries that nearly ended his career, of course he's going to be rusty and might also have some stamina issues especially against someone like Peter who will keep coming forward all night. If Vitali is able to do what McCline did to Peter early then he could have an early stoppage but if it goes beyond round 6 I'll give Peter the advantage.

 

not that peter is anything more than b level (altho a legit contender in this era), vitaly deserves props for not needing even 1 'warm up' fight. you got guys like haye, who take about a 1 year after a 1 round fight, talk as if they already won the hw title, and then look to fight maskaev.

i for one hope vitaly is at least 70%, which should be enough to beat peter

 

Due to US Boxing media propaganda, not just Teddy Atlas, people think Vitali can't and never could fight, but he is awesome and loves to fight. He is not fighting for the money.
