It will be interesting to see if Vitali is stiff enough now and has slowed down enough to get cought early with some Brigg bombs :think
Here's a new video Briggs just posted...skip to 1:40 and you can see he's ripped....at least he's coming into the fight in very good shape. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbcC0d3EWDA[/ame]
atsch Oh, gees. "Nobody can break my will, only I can break my will." 5 minutes after the fight: "Did Vitali break your will?" "Uh, no...No, I...I broke my own will... I'm the best. ...But I'm only the best asthmatic. I was also thrown off by the bigotry toward others like me. I would like to fight Wladimir or Haye next for a lot of money. They are also bigots."
LOL, yes Shannon certainly knows how to talk. I do believe you have to give credit to Shannon for getting in shape. He's about 20lbs lighter than his last fight, and the lightest he has been in about 9-years. I'm still going with Vitali by either KO or TKO.
I know this is a second, or even third rate fight, but with Briggs showing up in shape and having put in his work, and Vitali having slowed down just enough, i think its a pretty interesting matchup. Now, Briggs has to actually DO something in the fight to make it exciting and not just stand there looking at Vitali like so many opponents wind up doing. If he goes for broke early on it will be a fun fight.
All this talk about Vitali slowing down a bit..Briggs is not exactly a young up and comer! And he has asthma. I like Briggs a lot, but he's got a lot going against him. Vitali has a good chin and Briggs lacks stamina...the chances of him socring the big bomb are low. If only there were a softer chinned Klistchko he could fight, then maybe he'd have that (still slim) proverbial punchers chance.
He's too ****in big. Don't let his body fool you. When he fought Lewis, he weighed over 30 lbs less than he weiged for his last fight. 260 is too big for him. He still has power and handspeed, but he won't have stamina and mobility. However, due to his impressive KO record, they put him in with Vitali who is much more reliable than Wlad. Vitali could absorb a shot, and still outbox him to a wide decision. If Wlad takes a shot...well...you know what happens. But with Shannon's lack of mobility and stamina, he may not even get in position to land a shot. He looks like **** when he's running.
Nah, he ain't that serious. He would be down to atleast 240 if he was serious. He'll probably come in at 260. Don't be fooled by his physique. He's no more in boxing shape than Ronnie Coleman, the bodybuilder is.
