Vitali tries to intimidate Haye

Those fights would be low reward and relatively high risk. Haye likely won't make those fights. Even if Chagaev is his mandatory Haye will find ways to get around fighting him after April 2011, when the mandatory is due. He will offer a sidestep payment, he will ask the WBA for an exception for a title unification etc.

Haye fights two fights of opponents: Either they are ultra low risk (Barrett, Valuev, Harrison) and relatively low reward. Or they are ultra high risk (Klitschko, but also think Macca who was then highly regarded) with an outsized potential reward.

Watch Haye fight the first category of fights until he can't sell that type of junk to his UK audience anymore and then take on higher risk opponents when his alleged retirement date draws closer.

The Klits are no longer boxing solely for money. They've both earned tens of millions inside the ring and multiples of that outside the ring with year-long endorsement and marketing contracts. Whatever Haye is earning it is a fraction of the Klit money making machine.

Unlike Haye, they have already prepared their nest egg, they saved enough money for the rest of their life and then some. Haye is just in the process of securing that. That's why the Klits are more concerned with their legacy and getting the best possible opponents at this time, unlike Haye.

Sure, sure. Haye and CO are so brilliant that they has essentially pissed off every US boxing network. Really, there's a reason why Amir Khan beat Haye to HBO. There's a reason why no North American network wants anything to do with him. It really is hillarious to hear Haye fans go on about how brilliant Boothe and Haye are. If that was the case, why doesn't he have a contract with a major US network?

No one's buying it anymore. Quite honestly Haye isn't worth 50% right now and he won't be after he fights Adamek or :yep Harrison either. No one cares about those fights especially after Haye talked **** like he was going to KO the Klitschko brothers, etc. Those fights may or may not increas4e his popuilarity in England but they won't do **** worldwide.

 

Haye has more options? Listen newbie, you should probably refrain from making statements to start. Just ask questions, it's safer. The Klitschko earn far more for each fight than Haye does. In his last bout, Haye sold 20,000 tickets. That's great. By comparison, Wlad sold three times as many in his last 2 fights. Also, Haye is the one who needs to make a reputation for himself. At present, he's an exciting fighter from the UK who has a belt and hasn't beaten a heavyweight who wasn't on the verge of retirement. He's a contender. That may explain why HBO wants nothing to do with him.

 

The hardcore boxing fan will be disgusted if Haye doesn't step up to the plate. ... Even fans of his.

People not that much into boxing will buy into his bull**** and he will become more of a household name. He will pursue easy money and defend his title against anyone but a Klit.

 

Haye has already ducked them once. It looks like twice, if he fights Harrison.

Maybe, he is waiting for Vitali to start claiming his pension before he agrees to fight him.

As far as Wlad is concerned, this is the easier fight for Haye, because Wlad does not have that vicious aggressive style that Vitali.

Vitali enjoys hurting people, Wlad does not.

 

No good fighter goes to that length just to set up a fight with another guy, no matter how hated the rival. To fake a kd against a guy just for blufing purposes is similar to taking a dive...you ruin your credibility, and to fight subpar could be a risky thing as well..this guy Vitali is fighting might do to him what Ken Norton did to a subpar Ali back in'73. At Vitali's age he should mean business every time he steps in the ring...he's expected to win this fight, and if he dominates and lets the guy go the distance with him, it would be so transparent..everyone would know that VK was carrying the guy..it would prove nothing.

 

The same goes for Wlad, should he ever get the shrinking violet Haye in the ring with him...he shouldn't play around with "torturing" Haye for 11-1/2 rounds before lowering the boom..he shoud let the torture part go for about 6 rounds and then dispatch him brutally in the 7th..why let Haye get lucky for any reason.

You criticize two brothers for not fighting one another, but then give Haye a pass and say that Audley Harrison is a valid challenge? Haye has been campaiging as a heavy weight for the better part of two years, and in all that time, he's faced but 3 opponents who's ages ranged from 36-38, and haven't scored any meaningful wins in years. Within that same time frame, Vitali has returned to the ring after a 4 year abscence and in his late 30's to beat Sam Peter, Chris Arreola and Carlos Gomez.. Wlad has beaten Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev, Tony Thompson and Sultan Ibragimov... In addition, both brothers have made generous offers to Haye for a unification bout, and not only has he rejected both, but continues to trash talk as though he were Muhammad Ali taunting Sonny Liston.. The fact that Haye is even regarded as a title holder is laughable.. The WBA belt should have gone to Wladimir Klitschko the moment he dispatched Ruslan Chagaev, but due to Don King politics it was finaggled into the hands of Haye...

 

The fact that Haye and his handlers are even entertaining the notion of fighting Audley Harrison is an insult to boxing... I'm from America, but feel sorry for British fight fans.. I think that if Haye signs to fight Harrison, the fans should boycott Haye's fights before the ink even dries on the paper..
