It was on Austrian TV today, but really not much happening. Just the usual "I will not underestimate my opponent, all it takes is one punch" platitudes...
I have not heard much news either. Is Sdunek going to be the trainer and top cornerman for this fight? Sdunek was ill, and told by a doctor to take a long break. Johnson has an amateur record of 14-2, and is undefeated as a pro. He is big, fast, and can box. Never stopped as an amateur or pro, he is in the prime of his career. Most older champs avoid matches vs much younger and quicker champions. Not Vitali. Johnson's hand speed is excellent. Vitali is going to have to press Johnson, back him up to the ropes and trade punches. He should train for stamina and speed, not power. 245-248 is a good weight for this fight.
Do you honestly, honestly believe this? Based on what? This man went toe to toe with the great Lennox Lewis, and beat the daylights out of big punchers Corrie sanders, Sam Peter and Chris Arreola. I am asking seriously here- what makes you think he fears a chinny former crusier who barely beat Valuev?
