Vitali v Haye now?

I think Haye would win and, before I get called a Haye fan, I picked Wlad to outpoint Haye!

 

I still think Vitali wins. He wont try to mix it up like Chirosa did. He will stay on the outside and look to pot shot again. He will win more rounds than he did against Wlad tho, but it wont be enough.

I always thought Haye would have more success against Vitali than Wlad.

Wlad is much quicker, hits harder & has good feet compared to his brother.

No. Chisora vs Haye with the winner to fight Vitali. If Haye beats Vitali too then give him the Wlad rematch.

PS - Haye always has and always will have the talent and tools to beat the Klits but I don't know if he fights the right strategy.

I honestly think Vitali is there for the taking, Haye could beat him if he apply's pressure and is aggressive, fight more like he did in his cruiserweight days.

 

I doubt Vitali will fight again, depending on the extent of his shoulder injury. I can see him retiring in the next few weeks and moving into the political arena full time. I bet he was pretty disillusioned with the sport after this weekend.

 

Haye wouldnt pressure Vitali the way Chisora did though.He would employ the same tactics he did against Valuev.

I said after the Wlad fight and during Vitali fight with Chisora Haye would win. I firmly believe Vitali is there to be beaten and Haye carries the right tools to win that fight.

I think he's actually gained confidence in his chin after the Wlad fight, he looked shocked that he took flush punches from a big guy. Booth once told him 'you can't afford to take a flush punch from a heavy'. I believe Booth has to take some blame with the way Haye fought recently as well.

Vitali would struggle with the speed of hand and foot, Haye's footwork isn't great but it's decent enough to do what Solis did. I don't see Haye walking in straight lines like Chisora did.

I could see Haye using feints effectively as well as straight combinations with speed, He'd also be a bit more aggressive IMO. I believe he'd potshot the body of Vitali with jabs and lead right hooks to rib.

 

He should have went for Vitali first but Booth said Wlad wanted David
more so that's why they went for him. I have been on Haye to beat

Agreed. Sad truth but they would earn so much money in a merry go round of fights.

 

Vitali beats Chisora and Chisora would beat Haye.

Lotta brits easily get conned by Haye, i guess its the same 1's who bought his fight with Fraudley.

 

I don't know man. Vitali did not look good on saturday night. Even when he won rounds, he didn't look fully in control. Having said that, Chisora fought that Frazier type style, putting Vitali in the backfoot. He had his success when he was moving his head, and using his jab as a cover to get on the inside before landing overhand rights.

Haye against the bigger blokes won't do that. Against Valuev he fought on the backfoot, and against Wlad he did the same. Haye has good head movement I feel, but his game is more about staying out of punching range, and throwing single shots rather than pressuring. Chisora is also a very durable fella and was willing to take some hefty shots as he got on the inside. Although Vitali is not as big a puncher as Wlad, I think he still hits hard, and Haye's punch resistance isn't that great (although as skillspaybills points out, he did seem to take a few against Wlad and was okay) Still, is he gonna be willing to take some to land some like Chisora? When I was watching saturday night I did think "okay if Chisora is having this much success, imagine what Haye, who is much faster and hits harder can do".

Now though, I'm not so sure. Vitali's jab wasn't really there, was it because of the injury? Maybe. Has Vitali slowed down enough for Haye to beat him on the outside? I'm not convinced. I'm not convinced Haye can dance around the ring and potshot his way to victory like he did to Valuev.



You also gotta keep in mind, Haye won nearly every single round against Valuev but the judges had it so close. No chance he's getting a decision in Germany. He will have to knock out the big man.

It's a tough one, but if pushed, I'll go for Vitali.
