    Klitschko-Haye Update!

    By Alexey Potapov
Fightnews.com has learned that a bout between WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (37-2, 36 KOs) against former WBC/WBA/WBO cruiserweight champion David Haye (22-1, 21 KOs) is being discussed for September 12. The bout would likely land in Germany, although a brand new 50,000-seat stadium in Donetsk, Ukraine (Donbass Arena, home of FC Shakhtar Donetsk) opens on August 29th and is also under consideration. Haye was originally slated to face Vitali’s younger brother, WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KOs) on June 20th in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, but a month before fight Haye suffered a back injury and pulled out.

As for a possible unification fight between Vitali Klitschko and WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev (50-1, 34 KOs), the Klitschko brothers do not wish to deal with Don King, co-promoter of the “Russian Giant,” whom they believe is asking for too much to make the fight. Klitschko-Valuev could take place next year, however.

Thats great news....just when i was wondering if Haye had blown a once only chance! Anyway...if this does come off i'll be rooting for Haye...but at the same time very worried for him. Vitali is tough....never been down in a pro boxing ring. So Haye's punch as good as it is might need to be accomanied with a chin to go with Vitalis cos 12 rounds is a long time. Fingers crossed.

I'd rather watch Vitali tumble Valuev to be honest.
The Klitschko's need to realise Haye really isn't as big a draw as he makes out.
    Haye should fight arreola!

    Agreed.

Also, a fight in Donetsk would be great.

Good. Get rid of Haye. His act is tired and boring. How can someone be the HW savior when he fights once in 15 months?

You might be entertained by his talk and pulling out of fights but I'd rather see him do his talking in the ring.

This fight is very interesting though a fight with Valuev is better for the division since the fraud Valuev is doing nothing but making the division look more terrible than it already is. Of course, Don King protecting him is nothing shocking, they're feeding grandfathers to this guy and he still needs daylight robberies to win.

I would rather see Haye fight either Povetkin or Arreola with the winner getting Wladimir. Arreola should be a safer/easier fight for him than Povetkin who I believe beats him.

I was thinking the same. But Vitali should be too much for Haye either way.

I actually would have preferred Vitali-Valuev. It would have cleared up the HW picture a little bit.

why is that? Wlad already beat the legit WBA title holder. If u let the WBA dictate who the champ is, this mess will never get cleared up. When he beats Valuev, then they create another champion and then people will want Wlad to beat that joker. If lineage is so important, people can't let these corrupt organizations dictate their thinking.

Wlad = legit WBA, WBO, IBF Ring HW Champ :deal

Arreola is not a big enough name and would get destroyed by haye.

I think you giving Haye way too much credit. Haye is not a proven draw. Just cause Hbo wants Wlad vs Haye doesn't mean haye is the draw. If Haye was a draw then how come Haye vs Barrett wasn't on either espn, hbo, showtime?
