Vitali doesn't let Bowe get inside and has just as good a jab. Golota kept him from getting inside and well on his way to winning. Past prime Bowe ok fine. Tubbs who past prime himself boxed Bowe from outside and nearly won. (I thought he did)

Can't pick Bowe because even though he did defeat Prime Holyfield he had every stylistic and physical advantage in that fight. And he still got drawn in to fight Holyfield.
    Very good fight though.

    1) Aging Lewis > Bowe.

    2) Aging Lewis got bust up. There's no other way to put it. Luckily he had the guts of a champion and managed to fight back, mangling VK's eye. Any objective viewer will recognise that 8/10 Vitali would win that fight against fat-boy Lewis. Before you mention it, I agree that Lewis was severely undertrained. I'd have liked to have seen a properly fit Lewis against Klitschko. That would have been a far more interesting fight. Alas, for whatever reasons, we never got to see that. It is what it is. :?

    3) V.Klitschko does not typically like to engage on the "inside". He uses distance and counterpunching to control the action and systematically break the opponent down. Bowe does not, IMHO, have the footwork to force a brawl on Klitschko.

    4) The Lewis fight was an aberration in that Vitali engaged in a slugfest. As noted, he did just fine "inside". Yes Lewis landed a humdinger of an uppercut. Yes, Bowe also had a fine uppercut. But let's not forget that Lewis managed to land that punch because VK was essentially fighting one-eyed.

    5) Golota beat the p i s s out of Bowe. If you think Golota was "washed up" well, then Bowe's even worse than I thought. :-( I thought Golota, nut-punches aside, looked pretty damn impressive. If that crazy Pole could have kept his head together, he could have been somebody. :yep Alas, he did not.

    6) I agree that Bowe's best chance would be to brawl with Klitschko. :good I have already said that. But even then, Bowe has been dropped plenty of times, whereas Vitali ... never. Not even by Lewis. Even in a slugfest Bowe has a mountain to climb against an accurate, heavy puncher with an 80% + KO record.

    7) Bowe's guts will likely get him punished even worse than getting KO'd quickly.

    Conclusion: Vitali > Bowe.

so given every chance, why didn't he?

given every chance, prime best ever vits couldn't manage even half the distance with worst ever lewis.

That's a pretty onesided substantial margin to contrive that vitali is better. its like calling the earth flat when standing on the moon looking at it.

why these aberrations and menstruating face vageenas only happen when vitali faces highly skilled boxers.

never when he faces a k bro manufactured fatboy.

Check again, Vitail had over 300 combat matches as a kick boxer and boxer, and over came multiple injuries that required surgery. Oh sure, he's a softy.

The boxing hall of fame is full of people who quit with lesser injuries, but you don't know much about that.

As for courage outside the ring, Vitali is against KGB mob like politicians. That takes a special type of courage.

Let's put it like this: if Lewis had never rematched Rahman, there would be hordes of fanboys running around swearing on their mother's grave that Rahman > Lewis, even though we all know, based on Lewis' resume and skills, that that ain't so. Even though Lewis got KO'd.

Any OBJECTIVE viewer can clearly see that Vitali > fat Lewis. Hint - you aren't objective. Properly trained Lewis, that's another matter. :smooch That's all I'm going to say on this lest we end up going in circles; this is Bowe/Vitali, not Vitali/Lewis.

its not the same at all. both were evenly matched as far as primes were concerned, and it was a KO either way..

then why didn't he, given every chance against worst ever lewis.

best ever vits simply was not good enough to last more than half way with worst ever lewis.

A good break down! Two minor additions:

1 ) Vitali has an uppercut and can work the body if needed.

2 ) Bowe took a while to stop Herbie Hide, and later said Hide was the hardest puncher he fought. Hide actually landed some hard stuff early on Vitali before he was stopped in two rounds. Vitali didn't blink when Hide landed.

Before that he was in a party opposed to Putin. Maybe you should see what's going on in the Ukraine now. It’s full of corruption, and Putin’s cronies some of whom are dangerous. And there is a war going on with perhaps the weakest USA president in my lifetime doing nothing.

Putin in case you aren’t aware was the head of the KGB, and has a history of making his opponents in politics or the press disappear.

Vitali is a hero outside the ring. Being the major of a city of nearly 3 million people in times like this is not easy.

That's what Ray Mercer said before he ran into Wlad buzz saw attack.

Briggs has some off color remark, and the fight with Vitali nearly cost him his life.

ray mercer said Major chicken kiev? no way, he got a sense of humour.

oh, 40something ray mercer, yup thought so. Another K bro setup. who the hell even bought tickets to that thinking it wasn't some setup. how embarrassing to flaunt a defence against a 40something has been.
