This just shows me how horrible the HW division is nowadays.

Well he has apparently sworn to a certain deal and named finkel in his recently filed Complaint, but who knows...... hard to believe briggs who comes off as fairly intelligent (he did after all talk himself into like 2 title shots without having to beat anyone) could be as naive as he makes it sounds

I honestly think it's a discredit to rate this as any good victory for vitali. The guy has a decent enough resume without the need for shot fighters being mentioned.

    Sanders
    Hide
    Peter
    Arreola
    Solis.

His second tier consists of decent opposition also such as johnson, gomez, kirk johnson, williams.

Briggs belongs on the third tier with sosnowski, purrity etc.

The thing about vitali is before the comeback he was always a "imagine if" fighter. His comeback has elevated him to the next level and a few solid wins could move him higher still.

He should fight povetkin and adamek as a minimum. That should solidify him as a 20-15 atg.

The only way he possibly makes the top ten is doing the above plus beating wlad or his conqueror. Even then it'll be debatable, but i'd have him there.

I watched most of this video, including the 10th round, and to me it was unclear whether or not the fight should have been stopped. Yes, Briggs was taking a horrific beating, but he was still attempting to fight back and it never appeared that the was helpless. Nor did it appear that he was looking to get out of the fight.

That said, it was extremely uncompetitive, and it could probably be argued that Briggs didn't really have any change of winning and taking a further beating was about all any rational person could expect to see going forward. On that basis, it could be argued for a stoppage, but in no way is this a black or white issue.

Emanual Steward before this fight "Shannon Briggs will be Vitali's toughest opponent ever" (arent they all)

Steward after the fight "I'm surprised by Briggs lack of effort in this fight" (weren't we all)

Love Steward and his knowledge of the sport but c'mon...we weren't fooled by Briggs "scary faces" videos online before this fight, and we sure werent scared of that gut he brought into the ring. Bring on the next tomato can for Vitali

I have a friend who wants to watch Haye vs. Valuev every time, when I ask him if there is any boxing match he would want to see. Well that and Lewis vs. Tua.

Even when he has seen both of them twice.

I think I should introduce him to Wlad vs. Ibramigov because he seems to love boring fights.

That is hilarious. Lewis vs. Tua was a real sleep fest. I think the ultimate heavyweight stinker of all time was Ruiz vs. Holyfield 3, but their entire trilogy is studied at most sleep deprivation centers.

:rofl  Wlad vs. Sultan was very boring but it was a clinic as far as hitting & not getting hit.
