Vitali vs Fury who would of won?

People underestimating Fury again.

Vitali was good, but elite athletes get better. Fury would have outboxed Vitali very comfortable and I go so far to say that Vitali may have not even landed any relevant punches throughout 12 rounds.

 

Eh nobody in his prime but a) that was Steve campaigning over his peak weight and well past his best, in his late thirties, and never before in his career had Cunningham ever given up 3¼ to an opponent @ the weigh-in!

...and b) Cunningham won that fight via KO in the 2nd round, if we're being fair. It shouldn't have ever got to where it did, five long foul-filled rounds of Fury mauling & rabbit-punching an old man half a foot shorter than him later.

 

Nobody ever "underestimated" Fury. Show me where he ever proved himself versus an elite heavyweight? Besides a scared old Wlad at the end of his run, that is?

Wlad didn't actively engage him for even a moment in their bout, so we can't really judge Fury's worth by that performance, can we?

Show me another time Fury was in with an elite heavyweight and showed off all these supposed dazzling ATG boxing skills?

The man's extremely lucky to be in the history books at HW champ. Right place, right time, and to his credit the right game plan to keep Wlad hiding in his rabbit-hole. Not once ever did he demonstrate that he deserved to be heavyweight champ by defeating any elite heavyweight that was actively trying to fight him.

Chisora isn't an elite heavyweight, and neither is the yellow-bellied old shitting-his-pants version of Dr. Steelhammer.

 

Vit was a formidable fighter but I think Fury would be a nightmare to fight .vit was stiffer and more robotic than vlad but had a better chin .Fury would box and move giving angles generally messing vit about.Fury on points.

 

Simple, nobody else was that big and moved with that much agility. The mere sight of that combination two feet in front of him scared the bejeezus outta Wlad. Effective, and got Fury the belts he wanted, but essentially just a parlor trick. He performed Jedi mind control on Wlad to make him think it was a mismatch in his own favor when it really, if Wlad had even tried making a real fight of it, ought to have been a mismatch in Wlad's.

Look at Tyson here doing a light body spar with Hughie. Mind you it was casual and clearly nothing serious, but gives a nice microcosm of what each man brought into the ring with him stylistically in real fights and perhaps an some insight to how things might've gone if they did square off for real:

Tyson is very active, doing lots of jumping around on his toes, which his coach refers to as "beautiful footwork" (eh), popping triple jabs as he goes. All well and good, but stop and pay attention to what's landing. The object in a body work session of sparring, even a casual frame with your blood relative, is to land on what in a real match would be the legal scoring areas below the neck and over the groin. That is: the flanks, chest, stomach.

Count how many punches Tyson actually connects with on legal scoring areas on Hughie's body, as opposed to on his biceps (or picked off proactively by Hughie on his elbows/forearms). Hardly any.

Tyson's connect rate is like 5%, being generous. Hughie's is more like 50%, although he wasn't throwing much and was clearly there helping Tyson get some work in (and still, barely trying, outdid him)
