Lewis was on his way out in that fight! Knew he could not win a rematch then retired after holding the division hostage for eight months.

Him and his supporters are made for each other...

You should have stopped after the first syllable in your screen-name.

The object of boxing is to win the fight, not to be "better" whilst losing.

Lewis was old and already had more than enough money, and he had just beaten the best challenger in the division, why should he do a rematch? Rematches are for when there are close fights or controversial decisions, or when the champion loses. Not when a challenger gets decisively stopped in half the distance.

Most boxers go on too long and every says they should have retired earlier. Lewis beat the younger #1 contender and went out on top, at just the right age, before his skills and fitness deteriorated too much. That's *exactly* how a boxer should retire - Lewis did it right, unlike Sugar Ray Leonard or Ali or De La Hoya or Roy Jones Jr who all embarrassed and hurt themselves to no purpose in their later careers by staying on too long.

i do genuinely think that head to head he is top 10 all time heavyweight.

for some reason i would have loved to have seen vitali and prime bowe have a tare up. that would be one hell of a fight. i also think that prime bowe pushes a top 10 h2h atg heavyweight place. i'm not sure the likes of frazier and marciano could handle fighters of that size and durability.

Lennox retired for one reason. RESPECT for his Mother Violet & his lovely wife also named Violet. He'd done everything he could do He'd beaten every man that faced him in the pro ring. He had nothing left to fight for.
Lennox is a very wealthy healthy contented man Enjoying well earned retirement with his family. God Bless You Champ Thanks For Everything

Vitali is just lucky he was in his prime and Lewis was past his, Lewis of 1997 would have ****ed him up bigtime in a one sided massacre.

Vitali isnt in his league and is still living off this defeat.
