Poor Olly. Who's his adviser? That person should be tied to a lamppost and take about ten free shots from Olly.

I am excited about Maskaev vs Vitali. I want to see Maskaev in another big fight. I realize I may be the only one. I think its possible he could defeat Peter in a rematch. I know he might get wasted by Vitali, its likely, I still want to see him get a shot.

Is Vitali going to fight in Germany or in the US in dec? Why not have Vitali vs. Kevin Johnson with Toney-Maskaev on the undercard?

Vitali needs to walk a fine line between being busy and being too busy.

Sure he looked great in there vs Arreola, but he is 38 and he has had his fair share of injury problems.

3 Fights in the next 12 mos should be good enough to solidify his legacy if they are against the right oponents.

    Maskaev, Johnson and Haye maybe.

He won a decision by the international sport arbitration court in Switzerland. Not a judicial court, but the WBC is bound by it. It declared that Vitali didn't have to immediately fight a mandatory defense against Maskaev after already beating a mandatory challenger in Juan Carlos Gomez. That doesn't mean the WBC can't force Vitali to face Maskaev on his next official mandatory which is due March 2010.

The WBC appears to have some form of liability towards Maskaev. My guess is if they don't offer him another WBC title shot he has a way of dragging them to court and sue them.

You aren't the only one that wants to see Maskaev in one last big fight. I too, would like to see Maskaev get one last big payday before retirement.

Is Oleg the mandatory? If he isn't the mandatory than Vitali should fight his mandatory and get that out the way and than take on the HAYE VALUEV WINNER...

I suppose it's six of one, half a dozen of the other but I'd actually be happier for the Cinderella Man scoring one more big "name" win than take a career-high payday to take a beating from say a Klitschko.

Third time's the charm, Hasim? :deal

Although Johnson is being talked about I have a feeling it will be Maskaev he is more marketable to the European Boxing fans than Johnson is. Either way it gets rid of Maskaev as a ridiculous mandatory opponent and is easy money for Vitali.

Exactly, I'd rather see him pad his resume with another drubbing of Rahman. 3-0 against the guy who cold KO'ed Lewis is a longer lasting reward than a million bucks he'll have to spend half of on facial reconstruction.

I see your point. That would be good as well. However, I don't think Rahman would take another fight with Maskaev. He is looking at 2 more fights and then retirement, so I doubt he would want one of those fights to be a loss. Maskaev just has his number, plain and simple.
