Were were talking about Maskaev and McCline being better than Johnson and Sanders. Toney was never a part of the equation. Regardless Toney has accomplished nothing at Heavyweight.
Toney is a better fighter than anybody that Vitali has faced even though Toney did not accomplish anything at Heavyweight he accomplished much more the McCline and Maskaev. :deal
Yes I do watch boxing. For around 30 years. Do you read? I said "the 38 year old 5-rounds-in-5-years version of Sanders" (ie, not the one that fluked a title win) and "the 250lb version of Kirk" (ie, not the one that beat Maskaev"). Sanders won a belt? Big deal. So did a lot of other mediocre journeymen. It was a fluke.... unless you actually believe Sanders was better than Wlad and would have won a rematch? Holding a title (and defending it zero times) is as relevant than Maskaev beating Vitali in the amateurs. :yep ie. not at all.
ahhh, 8 years ago...and if you want to go further back McCall did it quicker than Johnson...so what...???...Sam fought according to his gameplan and still scored a brutal stoppage. Toney did not look like garbage vs. Rahman the first time...just because it was a tough fight...???...the guy counter-punched like an expert for 12 rounds. At McCline's peak he was losing title matches...now McCline is still losing title matches...nothing has changed, he competes at the elite level and comes up short. That is not an example of being shot...
