I think Solis has some potential, and I think a fight against Vitali would be interesting. However, it is surprising that Solis didn't stop Julius Long. Peter KO'd Long in the 1st round.

Solis is the only one who could beat Vitali who is clearly in decline. The dropoff is only going to only steepen. WATCH OUT FOR SOLIS! This could be big mistake for Vitali

The extreme hatred for Vitali and Vlad shows. Gomez had over 300 amateur fights and Vitali stopped him. Solis did stop Haye in the amateurs. Haye is still running from Vitali and Vlad.

Ok supporting your fighters is fine but being bias and unrealistic to the point of lying is another thing.

Never lost, especially to Russians or Soviets.......?
I seem to remember a Ukrainian who fought for Russia named Roman Romanchuk who fought Solis 3 times and beat him twice. Timurziev and Bulgarian Pulev also beat him. Alekseev lost 2 very close fights to Solis. Stop talking out of your ass.

Pulev actually is also a pro now and after 6 pro fights has wins over Zack Page, Gbenga Oloukun, and Matt Skelton.

There are " miles " of separation in level between Solis and Gomez. The only real amateur accomplishment of Gomez is 1 time World junior Champion as compared to Solis' Olympic Gold medal, 3 or 4 Cuban National Champion and 3 times World amateur Champion. In other words, Solis will beat Gomez all the time, amateur or pro, Solis has A+ skills! :bbb

Gomez fought Vitaly when he was in heavy decline already at age 36, not all fighters are the same and for the Cubans who have 300+ amateur bouts, when they reach their mid 30's it's downhill for them. Add to that Gomez' crazy and undedicated lifestyle and you have a total mess. Even like that he managed to last 7 or 8 rounds with Vitaly, but was too slow and did'nt have enough power to inflict any real damage. Gomez was a natural " middleweight back in Cuba " when he fought, then jumped up to the Cruisers in Germany and later to the HV's...It's clearly not the same, Gomez was never a natural HV.

Solis on the other hand, all of his life has been fighting in the HV's in Cuba and then later in the super Heavyweights, he is used to it and punches way harder than Gomez, who did'nt have KO power like Solis. Also, Solis defeated the best HV's in the amateurs like Haye, Felix Savon ( twice ) and all the Soviets that entered the ring with him, Solis was undefeated like for 5 or 7 years straight I believe at the International level, something that's truly incredible if you stop and think about it...:scaredas:

Those Soviets who you say beat him, were probably not in an " Major World Tournament " as Solis is 3 times World Amateur Champ, therefore if they beat him ( which I apologize for I did'nt know that ) it was later avenged by him when it counted, at the Olympics or World Amateur Championships... :yep

And another thing, I have seen so many " robberies against the Cubans " performed in favor of the Soviets that I have forgot count already. Fights in where the Cuban lands cleanly at will and does'nt receive the point and on top of that they give the points to the Soviets! Completely shameful, but if you stop and think about it, I know why the referees do that, because if they don't rob the Cubans then the Cubans take home all the Gold medals at every weight class, admit it... :-(

You guys also have to win some... and if it's not fair and square then it's by force... :hey

Bro, just because Peter KO'ed Long in the first it does'nt mean anything. Solis beat Long easily, he won every round. Solis was starting his career back then and only had 7 or 8 fights I believe, and Long is 7'0 !!!

Solis is a small HV, Long is a giant...

lol The fact that you don't know Romanchuk, Pulev, Timurziev or Alekseev shows that you don't follow amateur boxing.

every East Euro who beats a cuban is due to robbery, it's a conspiracy, right.

I'm also sure that Teofilo Stevenson was "robbed" when Igor Vysotsky won a decision, in Cuba. And was also robbed the second time they fought, when Vysotsky KO'd your great legend in the 3rd round.... out cold......after knocking him down in the 1st and 2nd round..........right?

Is your world shattered now? your delicate ego broken? ******

Solis is potentially one of the better challengers they could throw in with Vit. It's just so a sad that he might get a shot with his best win being over monte barrett who was on like a 3 fight losing streak and not even top 25 anymore

Solis did stop Haye in the amateurs. Haye will never fight Vitali or Vlad and he has proven such.
