Solis would get KTFO, the dude is fat, very untested as a pro and just not good enough to beat either Klitschko, they are just too big and too good, and that's a deadly combination. I'd be disappointed to see Top Rank and Arena cashing out on Solis, he's has all the tools to pick up a title or two in the post-Klitschko era given the right motivation, proper shape and solid pro experience, but right now he would get crushed for a decent paycheck, and I'm afraid that would kill any kind of motivation left in him. It is definitely not the time to be brave, Solis is in the "pre-serious period" like Gamboa was who needed to put on his ass to realize they won't just throw the title at him, he's gotta work for it. The stage Solis is at and the shape he fights in is only good for a kind of crushing defeat it's easy to call it a day.
LOL, Solis is 1-2 vs Roman Romanchuk in the amateurs. Romanchuk was a star Russian heavyweight and multiple tournament champion.
Chagaev beat Felix Savon two out of three as well. How much did that help him against Wlad? Amateur fighting negates a huge advantage for tall fighters. In a short vs tall matchup (with two fighters of somewhat equal skill and power) you often see the short fighter excell early, the tall fighter adapt and find his range and then dominate from the middle rounds on. I don't see Solis beating Vitali over 12 rounds.
Isn't Solis a fat cruiserweight too? I understand your patriotism here but Solis is getting KOed. He has not faced anyone even a half of Vitali KlitschKO in skills or any other department.
OK, so Solis impressed you against an old, washed up Barrett? Wlad destroyed the young, prime Barrett, yet Wlad never impressed you? Wlad and Vitali knocked out more fighters that were never knocked out before than any currently active fighter. Do you seriously think Julius Long would survive the rounds against either Klitschko, as he did against Solis? There are numerous fighters with better amateur careers than either Klitschko, Chagaev, Gomez, Povetkin, who would never beat them in the pros. One reason why many Cubans or Povetkin create great amateur careers is that the stay in the amateurs until their physical prime. Wlad, Vitali, Lennox, moved into pro fighting at a young age, long before their prime. Therefore, it is quite silly to compare amateur careers. Audley Harrison won Olympic gold at 28, Wlad won it at 19, huge difference in what those gold medals say about them as fighters.
This is a fight i would like to see before Vitali retires. Solis is a beast, a very tough guy with alot of power. He has a extremely effective high guard, which makes him hard to hit cleanly. Along with his bending down style will help him evade shots with out having to use alot of movement. (In which in truth is why he doesn't loose such much weight, his fighting style suites his bulky frame)
Vitali is a old fart and solis is going to stop him on cuts. He's going to reopen the cut that lewis put on Vitali's eye. What good does it do Vitali to fight these up and coming fighters. I think he's trying to protect Wlads weak chin.
Solis is skilled boxer, Vitaly already took care of fully grown up and powerful Arreola. The only problem with Solis is his lack of experience with top competition but Solis is golden boy himself and he has good experience overall. Its not like Vitaly is ducking better boxers, he offered fight to Valuev and Haye is busy now.
I will not insult you like you just did, even though you deserve it. I will just remind you who is the " all time leader in Gold Medals at the World Amateur Championships, " CUBA ". Go check the stats for yourself at the Amateur World Championships webpage... God bless you...
