What are you basing your opinions on? His amateur background?

Agreed. Another easy fight for Vitali who will win inside 6 by KO.

Solis has beaten nobody, just like Arreola and Johnson. Just hoping this farce does not happen.

Amateurs don't count ****, this is the pros. Haye is certainly a far more accomplished pro than Solis. Just look at Solis record.

Why not Povetkin?, it's a bit too early for Solis in my opinion.

Finally we will see the end of the robot HW era. I just love reading how people are underestimating my man. La Sombra is a ****ing powerhouse; you were warned. Cant wait to read post from the robot fan boys after the fight.

Maybe, but in that case it's still about 30lbs too much.

You disregard the fact that this all was when he still was in extemly good/good shape at 91kg or slightly above. Since then he has just let himself go and it has cost him a lot. You can argue that he is now a worse fighter than years ago when he was an in shape amateur. He really hasn't that much raw power, his power comes from speed and accuracy. He has still the technical skills but he lost immensely in speed, movement, etc., all the things that diminish when you put on a lot of weight.

I'm sorry fella, but if the States concentrated all their resources on amateur boxing they would be streets ahead of anybody else. Sorry.

Solis should go and beat somebody half decent first. His resume is terrible. It is a shame somebody like that may get a shot.

James Toney wants to fight Vitali!

This would be a great fight, i hope Vitali will fight Toney.

    The PK would be top.

I used to support Solis and had high hopes for him, but he's proven, at least to me, that he's overrated.

Solis is going to take a thrashing, and his confidence, clout, and career will take a huge hit from this.

    Agreed.

Yep, Solis is large and thick, that's why he is excused to show up between 230-240lbs for his 6'1" height, otherwise he would be a supermidlewheight. Anything over 240lbs is really unacceptable.

Anyway, I've seen Solis fight, he is skilled, probably not on the ideal moment to take this fight, but it does make sense from every perspective. I hope the fight is made.

I still pissed at Valuev for saying no thanks to a 2 million dollar pay day, and a somewhat interesting title match.

Solis isn't very accomplished, but he's good. I'm not sure if Solis will do much for Vitali's resume, but maybe avenging a loss to the very lucky Chris Byrd will.

No, 230-240 is way too fat. 271 is disgraceful. He hasn't got a chance agaisnt Vitaly at any of those weights.

We hear this about every fat **** heavy. When Peter was getting progressively fatter, somebody kept chiming in with "you can see his rib cage" as if tha proved he wan't gaining ten pounds every fight.
